The inscruable chinese..

Posted in General E-Smoking Discussion by ruyan on the October 31st, 2008

there is nothing cheap about this product.. its well made.. machine turned solid brass components.. beautifully polished carved hand finshed hardwood bowl.. hand assembled and tested.. well boxed and presented..

now why on earth would anybody go to the trouble to make something like this that has a design life of only two weeks..

do the chinese know something i dont.. ???

trog|||Trog, I assume you’re referring to the atomizing components?

Curious what other materials besides the current metal used (foam nickel I believe???) would be ideal to provide a more reliable atomizing device. This calls for some fun times experimenting |||i am referring to the .. mainly the stuff that coats the heater coil.. its this that seems to kill other well made off.. its a crying shame with something like the pipe.. if decent as new performance is required a new pipe every two weeks is the only way to do it..

a design alteration that takes a cheap plug in would cure the problem.. but the makers seem happy to keep churning out the things just as they are..

let me hazard a guess here.. 600 hundred puffs per day.. i think these things are good for around five thousand puffs max..

quite a lot when looked at in this way.. but a figure a heavy user soon arrives at..

atomizers are disposable items with a limited design life.. this isnt a problem only in the way these products are made and sold.. buying a packet of new atomizers at the same time as new carts is the real answer..

have gone into overkill mode with a new in each new cart.. but it shows the way..

trog

ps.. a device designed around cheap disposable is the answer.. cheap generics can already be used in this way.. the big name expensive boys have problems here thow.. but only because they are so over priced and sold on the service concept.. its not a valid concept with current ..

the problem the big boys have is if they reduce their atomizers to sensible price levels they end up selling a way over priced a which sadly is also a disposable item..

these things are cheap chinese items.. no matter what name they carry.. the chinese can produce them for pennies.. the pipes cost a little more to produce than the normal type cigs..

trog|||a pipe made and sold my way.. pretty much the same as it is appearance wise..

it would take simple plug in atomizers.. change them every few says.. it would not take carts these do not seem to work properly either.. it would have decent seals to stop fluid leaking into the compartment..

how it would be sold.. instruction to customer..

1.. charge and install ..

2.. plug in ..

3.. take the fluid dripper bottle that come with your pipe.. carefully place ten drips into the .. this is just like filling your real pipe with tobacco only its e liquid..

4.. plug in mouthpiece and smoke away..

5.. when smoke falls off your pipe with fluid.. every few days depending on use replace your ..

the result.. a sensible device that works as it should with no problems right from the word go..

trog

ps.. and most importantly.. dosnt need throwing away every two weeks.. he he he|||Trog-why do you think they dont just make such a device?
i mean it makes so much more sense for everyone involved.
the way that thing is crafted for short term use is just wasteful and downright stupid.|||the answer is simple darcy.. its a copy of the e pipe..

its all in my "real reasons" thread..

the real reason we are having problems with our e cigs

of course peope who cant afford the 350 dollar pipe dream the "u get what u pay for" dream.. they spout the "buy cheap and what do u expect" mantra..

charge 35 dollars for five pipe carts.. the weekly running costs for me would be astronomical.. .. two pipes up front cos i know its bound to fail some time.. 700 dollars plus shipping.. lets say a months supply of carts to get me going.. 30 carts.. 6 x 35 = 210 dollars.. all in 910 dollars up front for the first month..

so for a thousand dollars i could destroy the myth.. sold a package.. to rich occasional users.. it worked.. the high price for consumables saw to that.. it simply stopped the product being used in the way i would use it..

i can visualize lots of pipes sitting on rich mens shelves.. an ideal present for rich wifey to buy hubby.. he he he

trog

ps… i hope they see sense soon and do make such a device.. i do think we have to ding the sense into the buggers thow..

ps 2.. and darcy.. the chinese are wasteful and darnt right stupid… they dont seem to care.. they make it.. we buy it.. no racial slur intended.. but there is no other way to say it..

the cheap price keeps the system going.. i have ten dead e pipes.. they all come from china.. he he he

they are quite capable if making a wonderful ship and sinking it cos the cream cheese plug in the bottom falls out.. it might be a clever plan.. dunno.. he he he|||Do you use pipes Trog? I ordered one of those a few days ago so I could compare the vapour with my ecig. The ecig is no good to me with cartridges so I’ve been liquid onto the atomiser and smoking it without a cartridge. The pipes are supposed to produce more vapour, is that right?

I’m a bit embarrased about smoking a pipe - being a woman and all, but I’ll only be doing it at home, alone and using my ecig when anyone else is around. The way I look at it is that if it delivers the density of vapour to satisfy then it shouldn’t matter how daft I look.|||to give this "why" thing some serious comment.. that pipe keeps chinese dudes in jobs.. at present the chinese are over producing.. their big problem is keeping the chinese workers in jobs..

not wrecking the planet aint at the top of their priority list.. pretty much like it wasnt at the top of our priority list a hundred years ago..

us western dudes simply export our waste and pollution.. we let the chinese wreck the planet for us.. ultimately its us that buy the junk so its us that are responsible.. "things aint as they seem" is the phrase..

trog||| |||yep, thats just the way it is right now i suppose…cant see it changing anytime soon.
