Im interested in comparing the use of e-cigs in China to Everywhere else or "we people here".

It appears that basically all e-cigs are created in China and that even the posher models are made there and are simply rebranded from generic items or modified in some way and the branded.

So how do the Chinese use these devices, do they use them to completely replace a smoking habit ?

If so how are the items viewed by them, are they basically treated as semi dissposable/dissposable items or do they expect "X" amount of use and reliability and service.

Also what is the comparative price of say carts, atomisers and batterys in China, are they priced so cheaply there that people are happy to dispose of them or are they relativley expensive like the exports we are recieving ?

Im very interested in this as something seems a miss with the idealogy of current e-smoking, either the consumables should be far cheaper or they products far more durable, prefferably both…

Anyways if anyone has any experience of China and its e-smoking culture I would be intrigued |||be interesting to know what they cost the guy in the street over there.

I don’t know your 20 (hahahahaha!!!!) but I’m in the UK so we’re in a sort of weird position. We get scalped unmercifully for cigarettes - 拢5.50 a pack for my cheapo(!) brand. Therefore there’s a lot of headroom in what I can afford to pay. I’ve spent over a thousand quid on this stuff, but I would have spent that much in about 6 months anyway (and I have more than 6 months supply of carts and liquid). Throw in the health benefits (jury still out on whether inhaling PG is a good idea or the worst choice we’ve ever made) and it’s value for money from where I’m sitting. I haven’t yet factored in the cost of replacement atomisers, batteries etc, but I think it will still come in under the UK bar.

Emp|||e-cig.com prices make them disposable.. in my case they have been 100% reliable both with delivery and working on arrival products..

if in the UK here is a way to guarantee a 100% reliable and working product.. budget to buy one pillbox 901 generic kit plus one spare atomizer per month..

if u wish to play the unreliability game simply try and make them last longer like everyone else does.. he he

once u have a few spare ones u can try eaking them out a little longer.. but budget for the one basic kit plus the one atomizer per month.. they will work take my word for it..

u can save money on the carts by buying pillbox classic carts and syringing them out for liquid..

please dont think when these things go disposable the price will drop.. it wont..

Been off ‘hot-smoking’ (漏 MacFan) for 12 days. Getting my eyes fried at the start of August so want a particle free house. This is after about a month of combo e and hot smoking. I couldn’t go exclusively e-smoking from the start, like some of the forum heroes.

As to the PTB making sure it’s safe, they’re only just waking up to it. Perils of the internet world, I’m afraid - the perimeter is no longer manned.

We’re all living on the maybe lethal vs certain death equation. TB makes a good point about Big T only getting away with it because of custom and usage. No way would cigarettes make it to market as a new product. This is the only point worth making in favour of the anntis - when kids now in the womb are grandfathers, hot-smoking may well have vanished from the face of the earth .

Empalways need a rebel in the group, Bob! And to be fair he was pointing me at Pillbox. Anyway, I’m a dilettante with more money than sense so I’ll carry on buying across the spectrum - that Sedansa Diva Leaford’s so taken with calls to me just as much as Smokester’s funky black’n’blue DSE901b.

I’m not quite brainless enough to ignore the weight of negative posting about e-cig, though - I haven’t forgotten the 50ml shorting they gave you, and I’m really loath to order anything from China. EU for me, although I’ll stretch a point to get my hands on some Johnson Creek when he opens…

I received my first E-cig on Aug 29th and when I was smoking the cartridges that came with it (they lasted me til Sept 3rd ish) I noticed that I had this perpetual hyperness to me. Sort of jittery and twitchy, like when you have WAY too much coffee. I didn’t think anything of it as at the same time I was running on about 1hr or so of sleep a night. But from the 4th until yesterday (the 10th) I was smoking JC’s liquid as well as some strawberry that I got from electroniccigarettesales.com and the jitteriness went away. But I as also getting mroe sleep so again I didnt think it had much of a connection with the E-cig. But yesterday I got more of the same cartridges that came with my starter kit and have been smoking them since last night and now I’ve got that twitch again and I slept for a good 6 hours last night (which is way good for me since im an insomiac). Not that I’m complaining mind you, its a cool feeling but I was wondering if maybe it’s something to do with the nicotine? The cartridges that I ordered, the JC liquid, and the strawberry from electroniccigarettesales are all high, but I cant think of anything else that would be causing this. Has anyone else had a similar experiance? Or atleast have a clue what I’m on about? LOL just sort of wanting to make sure I’m not losing my mind over here.|||What is the brand of your first e-cig and carts?|||This might sound odd but im not sure what to call em to be honest. Theyre the carts that came with my DSE901B|||Ryle - I got that jittery twitchy thing on my first day with the wicked juice. I figured it was just a bit of an od of nicotine because the dose is 36mg and I was unable to leave my new toy alone.
Only been a few days but I am taking longer breaks between vaping - and no jitters.

I also don’t know what to call the carts that came with my 901 - my packs just say: mini cigarette atomiser cartridges.||| |||i think too much nicotine generates a hyper active feeling.. think being the operative word.. none of us really know exactly whats in the liquid we smoke.. or exactly how much nicotine we get.. the whole experience is a bit hit and miss..

trog|||Hi Ryle,

You’re not the first to remark on something similar when first using an e-cig. Infact when I first got mine I had similar symptoms. These have now pretty much gone away thankfully.

What I think causes them is associated with the way we tend to use our e-cigs when we first get them, that’s pretty much flat out use. That coupled with none of the bad products from tobacco smoke to cancel out or reduce the affects of the nicotine we inhale.

Lets consider those two things a little more.

Cigarettes have a natural finish point, we burm em and bin em. E-cigs don’t have this cut off so we tend to continue using the thing for longer periods of time per session. This is of course going to increase our overall intake of nicotine. Good comparison you made to having way to much coffee. The remedy is in the hands of the user to self-regulate the amount of time spent sucking the thing.

One of the fantastic advantages of e-cigs is there are none of the bad things in the vapour mist that are present in cigarette smoke. In particular there is no CO (carbon monoxide) or CO2 (carbon dioxide) both of these gases have the effect of reducing the "hit" we get from the nicotine contained in tobacco smoke. If you like it can be said that we get effects of a far purer form of nicotine rather than the effects from a junk cocktail of things in tobacco smoke.

There are a couple of other minor side effects you may notice from e-cigs and both are associated with the PG (propylene gylcol) that is used to create the vapour. The first is some dryness and slight irritation of the mouth and throat. PG does tend to do this and it quickly passes as you become accustomed to using it. Increase the amount of water you drink (never a bad thing) and try sucking a hard sweet, I use tic tacs. The increased water intake will help the dry mouth and the sucking action soothes the throat irritation.

The second is some tiredness or heaviness in your limbs. This is related to what happens to PG in your body, PG is metabolized very quickly into lactic acid and is then excreated rapidly from your system. Lactic acid is also produced by muscle tissue when you exercise, that’s what gives you the burn feeling, most people will have experienced a "stitch" at some point, this is an excess build up of lactic acid in the muscles.

Neither of these two are a significant issue and do go away quite quickly.

One last thing … Some people are more sensitive to PG than others, if you have anything more than some minor niggles using PG or the niggles get worse either consider stopping completely or switching to a VG (vegetable gylerin) based juice.

I hope that helps |||oh so its a combination of the nicotine and the pg making me feel like I’m back in the days where my extracurricular activities too me to the darker side of legality. Gotcha.. just wanted to affirm that I’m not going nuts. This just means that if i don’t want to drink coffee… just e smoke more. Though it also means I’m going to be quite twitchy until i quit using this thing like a pacifier. |||I had the same problem but I think I’m calming down now

It helps that my sole mini will give a burnt taste if I suck it too much. But it’s nice to be able to puff away (for an ex pipe smoker!) so I’m going to order a ’spare’ (lol).

The answer would be either to switch to lower nicotine or not inhale every drag.|||OK. I’ve seen this several times now, and I am curious….What are "niggles"?

Also, do they make a salve or cream that you can use to get rid of them?

I do a google on ‘em, and found THIS forum. I discovered a group of people not supplementing their smoking but REPLACING it with these things. I thought "Well, I’d never be able to give up the real thing…" but told my sister about it (she was trying to quit completely). We both order kits from Smartfixx.

Within 3 days I lose all desire for real cigs, my last cig is at 11:00pm on July 3. (This is my 92nd day of no smokes–I never went back.)

Now a week after receiving my 5 DSE103’s and 36Mg juice from MNZ and 2 semi auto cigars and 3 rechargeable Vegas Cigas from Deal extreme I am in E-Cig heaven for the first time in 30 years have gone without a real cigarette for longer than a day and amazingly have NO desire to have one.

I started smoking at the age of 8 yes 8 .

It all started when a friend (he was 9 and corrupted me I tell you the little barsturd) and I were walking to school and got to thinking it would be WAY better to go to the shopping center rather than spend a long boring day at school. So thats exactly what we did, little did I know he was carrying a half full packet of cigarettes AND an evil sexy cum smoke me cigar begging me to light it in his school bag. So we lit up as we walked to the shops trying not to gag on the smoke and to look as cool as we could.

It all turned to sheite when while sitting on the side of the footpath in the shopping center car park a teacher from school sprung us as she was doing some shopping on her day off grrrrrr. And wouldn’t you know I was the idiot with the Cigar hanging out my mouth when we were busted. Well we received a free car ride to school and for the rest of that term never had a lunch break again as our punishment was to sit outside the principles office watching all the other kids play. Oh and my parents were oh so thrilled too by the way NOT.

I was hooked from that day on unfortunately. It’s the smell when you opened a fresh packet and they called cum smoke me - well jesus that’s what I did for 30 years.

So thanks to all on this forum for all your help and am so enjoying this new hobby and I am feeling so much better.

My favorite flavoring so far is the 36Mg Tobacco Nic cut with 30% VG and about 10% pernod (god I love that stuff). Its an absolutely amazing taste and has a nice kick to it also.|||I got my first e-cigarette from my sister back in February ‘08. I was curious to try it, perhaps cut down my 15 cigs a day habit a little bit and be able to smoke inside when I chose to. I had no intention whatsoever of quitting tobacco altogether.

Come (somewhere in) May ‘08 (not even sure exactly when !), I was only smoking two tobacco cigs a day by now, my pack of smokes was empty after my ‘evening smoke’. I crushed it up and chucked it and simply couldn’t be bothered to open a new pack the next day for my ‘morning smoke’ !

Haven’t touched a tobacco cig since, after a smoking habit of more than 25 years I simply let go of it and have never looked back. Can’t stand tobacco anymore…

Silver|||Two weeks ago today, I looked in my garbage at 3:15 in the afternoon, after trading futures for 10 hours, I counted 4 empthy packs of kools, and and 5th pack half smoked. I decided to use the ecig I had bought months earlier. I googled ecig comparisons, and found Lea’s video’s on comparisons, along with smoking techniques, and dripping. I then found this forum, and started ordering tons of different ecigs, liquids, cartridges, I bought a carton of Kool softs, on sat. after smoking a carton in less than 3 days. I have 2.5 packs still left…

I bought from Puresmoker, Njoy, Janty, and went to Janes house, and learned to be professional about this newfound obsession. I had to find a Kool substitute cause I was killing myself, and my family.

I started smoking when I was nine, quit at 15, started again at 21, I turn 50 in a few months. My Dad passed away 3 weeks ago, he had emphisyma. I decided 2 weeks ago to give it my best shot, to cut back, and quit. I have had asthma for over 25 years to boot. I have tried the patch, nicorette, zyban, hypnosis, the latest pills, the name escapes me.

Never, have I had so much fun, at the same time, so little desire to smoke.

I am loving this….on top of it I have lost over 10 lbs, in the last 2 weeks

I had been smoking since i was 16 and decided in August this year to give up on my birthday. I figured at 33 that i had been smoking for more than half my lifetime and that wasn’t good.

So my birthday comes and i still got a few cigs left so i just had to finish them off

2 days after my birthday i stop cigs. I used the 4mg nicotine gum for 3 days, at that point thats the longest i’d ever been without a ciggie so i was quite pleased with myself even at that point.

My gums where running low so decided to see if i could get them cheaper on e-bay.

I started looking for inhalers and a load of ecigs turned up in the search.

I looked and thought rather hard at them as they seemed alot more expensive than a pack of gums , but i liked the idea and i’m a bit of a gadget freak so i took the plunge and bought a smart smoker starter kit DSE101 it was.

Now i recieved it in good time , i still hadnt had a ciggie charged it up and used it for a day or too and all was well. but as i was new to the ecig i think i smoked it dry and it gave up the ghost. I think that was beause i believed the 1 cart = 1 pack myth. That’s when i found this forum as i searched for advise.

Anyway i sent the cig back to the seller as faulty , he took it back no probs and gave me a full refund including postage, can’t fault the guy.

Anyways i loved that little cig when it worked so after browsing here i ordered a dse901b starter pack from Simon and havent looked back since.

Ofcourse now my ecig collection is more than i require and i’m still buying these great little gadgets but the best thing is i havent had a real cigarette since 24th August 2008 so that 6 weeks ago.|||I smoked cigarettes for over 30 years. After several failed attempts I decided to have one more go at quitting cigarettes at the start of this year.

I joined a 3 month NHS stop smoking program, one to one with a councillor. As other NRT products had failed me in the past I was offered and decided to try Zyban.

Although Zyban enabled me to get through the first few weeks of withdrawal I started to suffer from various other quite worrying symptoms.

As in previous attempts to quit cigarettes I also became very depressed even though Zyban is an anti-depressant.

At one stage my councillor suggested that I also took another anti-depressant drug. My doctor decided this was very unwise, something to do with an increased risk of seizure.

Eventually I could not stand the Zyban anymore and threw the remainder in the bin.

After 4 months of non smoking the depression was absolutely awful. I decided that a shorter ‘happy’ life was better than a longer life of total misery.

I was about to buy a carton of 200 cigarettes when I came across an advertisement on the internet for e-smoking.

I have never looked back. I have no wish to return to normal cigarettes. I have a lot more energy than I did when I was smoking cigarettes. I am no longer depressed.

E-cigarettes saved me from returning to my old habit. I would definitely be smoking normal cigarettes today if it were not for this product.

Other NRT products do not work for some of us. Banning e-cigarettes would confine myself and no doubt a multitude of others to a far less healthy life and possibly a premature death. In my opinion it would be a step back into the dark ages.|||I came across ecigs by accident while looking for a gift on an online shopping site. After reading around a bit and finding this brilliant forum I ordered an RN4072 classic from Smokester. I was sure before I got it that it was overrated and was just an expensive gimmick. My thoughts were that it might replace a couple of cigarettes a day, I had no intention of trying to give up, I’ve tried before and missed the habit terribly. The nicotine is easy to replace but the act of smoking is not easily replicated and that’s what I can’t bring myself to do without.

I didn’t like the taste at first and it irritated my throat so I couldn’t use it much. Luckily I had read about diy juice and was able to dilute the cartridge juice to make it bearable. After some experimentation and getting acceptable taste and vapour I almost completely stopped smoking. Two weeks after getting my ecig I finished the last of my tobacco, it tasted awful and I haven’t smoked since. I’ve been cigarette free since 25th July, I haven’t missed them at all and much prefer esmoking. I’m reducing my nicotine intake too, I’m planning to go down to a steady, low maintenance dose, I’m not sure that I want to completely stop nicotine. There are some health benefits to nicotine but I think a very low dose will do for me.

I’ve spread the word with my smoking family and friends and hope that regulations, tests and trials will soon confirm that esmoking is a safe, effective cessation method. It’s been a lifesaver for me, a miracle and I wish all smokers could have access to cheap, safe, esmoking products.someone in a forum I was in was talking of buying an e cig never heard of it before and was intrigued, been trying to quit for ages and thought it might help, I looked on net and found Simons site and found this forum (I dont post much but read it a lot ) gives lots of good advice and information so bought e cig 14th august, I am still smoking real cigs but have cut down a lot and hope to eventually use just the e cig and then reduce the nicotine. I feel a lot healthier when I have only been using the e cig I don’t cough and chest feels clear and not tight, but I still crave a real cig and buy them some days but down to less than 10 a day from smoking 30 a day before, and have been smoking for about 35 years and tried countless times to kick it. so hopefully I will stop smoking soon and just use e cig but from 30 to 10 is a good start and using the e cig has made that possible"its legal here kate…" This is the internet Trog, not your front room.

Got them from Heavensgifts today- they shipped on Monday, Wayne from HeavensGifts mentioned there might be a 2-3 day delay because of stricter controls on shipping because of the olympics, but they still got here pretty fast imo.

First impressions after 20 minutes of smoking:

HIT/THROAT/LUNGSTo be honest, I was expecting a bit bigger hit. The very first puff was great & I though Woowee- this is gonna be killer, then it mellowed out on just the second puff it seemed- a bit too mellow for my taste really. It does have a throat hit that I can only describe as ‘different’ than my other devices. It’s not sharp, doesn’t sting, but is a bit ‘raspy’, almost liek a slight tingle in the throat I guess would be hte way to describe it. The hit to lungs for me is just so-so. I can kinda feel soemthing, but ot be honest, I’ve had penstyle atomizers that delivered bigger lung whacks (Especially when hte fiber burns out and delivers scalding hot lava vapor to hte lungs lol). Now, when I straight inhale, I get a good lung feeling, but most people don’t straight inhale Cigars, and it’s made more for puffing hten inhaling.

HIT/NICOTINE It’s ok right now- not great, but not too bad- These Cigars from Heavensgifts only go as high as 16mg, but if I recall correctly, I’ve seen Ruyan disposables as high as 24mg- I could be wrong though. I think though, that the cigar will give enough nic to keep the nic-jitters at bay, at least for awhile, but don’t expect it to deliver for the whole length of the cartridge life for sure.

HIT/TASTEIs it ‘cigar-like’? No, not really. While it ‘resembles’ a cigar, it does so very weakly in my opinion. I would describe it as an ‘ultra-light cigar’, a very mild cigar- perfect for htose looking for soemthing mild with a bit of a kick, but not too much of a kick. If that is what you are looking for, I honestly don’t think you will be dissappointed, as the taste really is quite nice, although I personally was looking for a much more pronounced taste. If I had to scale the taste on how it impacts the taste buds on a scale of 1-5 I’d have to give it perhaps a 3 1/2 as compared to any smoking juices or cartridges that I’ve tried being about a 2 1/2. To me it’s only slightly better than the blander less "tastebud impacting" E-cigarettes. I might give it a 3 3/4 just because it has more of a cigar flavor that is quite pleasing, but could use some beefing up in the impact arena in my opinion.

(NOTE: This may change as the atomizer becomes more saturated with hte liquid- already I think I can sense a slight increase in taste- I also just got a fairly ok hit to hte throat- nothign earth shattering or anything, but a bit better hit- so stay tuned for updates my good people)

QUICK UPDATE TO NOTE: The hit to throat and lungs does indeed seem a bit stronger now after abotu 50 puffs- will keep ya posted if it gets any better- The hit started out around a 2 3/4 for me, and is now I think a 3 on a 1-5 scale

(NOTE #2) also note that my sense of taste isn’t hte greatest, so it owuld take a pretty decent strong liquid for me to really note the taste of something- Years of smoking I guess have ruined my sense of taste, so take my taste review lightly, and don’t let this portion of review influence your descision one way or the other. I’m just taste-impaired.

DRAW Wow! This is what E-Smoking should be like- not too light, but light enough that you don’t have to work hte device so hard your jaw aches at hte endof the day. Compared to hte LoongTotem, which has the lightest draw of any device I’ve tried, it is abotu the loong’s equal- maybe even better as it gives, in my opinion, the perfect resistance- not going over the line to too easy. The draw is very easy, yet just enough resistance to give the impression of actually smoking a real cigar. There doesn’t seem to be a cutoff point, and you can take a good long healthy inhale- unlike some of my other devices that cut you off just as you were really startign to get into a good inhale.

VAPOR When puffed and not inhaled, it’s about 1/3-1/2 of what my LoongTotem can produce when just puffed and blown out of hte mouth without inhaling. If you want a god comparison, it is about on par, perhaps an 1/8 less than, Cashme’s video where he demonstrates refilling and uses his cigar in the video. (Note, I’m not talking about his inhale and exhale, but when he puffed the cigar- As well, you can see the vapor in Dusty’s video for hte throwaway, and also Leaford’s video, although Leaford’s vid showed it refilled and was producing more vapor as a result)

FORM FACTOR This category excells- holds just liek a cigar should, and hte wieght, while a bit heavy for a cigar, is quite nice. It is styled just liek a cigar should be, and you won’t be gettign any funny glares from folks like we do when smoking a penstyle and peeps don’t know what to think when your "Pen" billows out a cloud of vapor lol. Overall, quite pleased with hte form factor- now if only they can make those backwoods style- Clint EastWood style smaller cigars in throwaway versions, and beef up the nic and htroat hit by double, maybe even triple, I’ll be quite a happy camper. The only real issue I have with hte form factor is that like Dusty said, the mouthpiece is hard plastic, which makes it awkward to keep cigar in mouth liek you can with a real cigars.

EXHALE VAPOR Not much to report here except that I really like the fact that it totally absorbs in lungs and nothign gets exhaled for discreete smoking around company and in hte house. I could do the same with my other devices, but it would require much longer holding of breath waiting for vapor to diminish in lungs- too long to be comfortable infact- but with hte cigar, very little is exhaled even with a quick exhale, but, there is also the possibility of inhaling slowly and still being able to exhale vapor if you so choose- I quite liek the fact that you can decide what you want in this department.

if you just stick to smoking just the cigar taste increases so does vapour and throat hit im talking about a different ruyan cigar here but im total hooked on it now it excels past my dse901 and that takes some beating but there is definitely a transition period when changing devices.
stick it out and see what happens !|||I’m going to Kit- I can already sense a better throat and lung hit, and taste for that matter. I’m definately goign to state that in htose 3 categories, they were a good 3 3/4, moving toward a 4 already. I’m sure htis will drop off a bit as the cigar nears the end of it’s life, but for now, it’s getting pretty good- we’ll see how long it remains liek htis or if it improves of declines-||| |||The first cigar I’m not goign to alter with juices of flavors or anythign until it the cartridge craps out- I’ll be testign how many puffs I actually get, how long hte vapor stays strong, the taste, the battery stays charged etc. Just so we have a reference to go by- the the second cigars I might alter a bit- we’ll see.

also- like you discovered, I’ve found I can inhale slowly, and get soem vapor on exhale if I inhale right- takes some practice, as it’s kinda different than regular esmoking to inhale htis way, but it works good, get a decent amount of vapor out- not stupendous or anything- probably abotu as much as a half flat battery in a penstyle would produce. It’s certainly satisfyign to see the vapor exhale as it’s more liek a real cigg and calms the urge to smoek real cigg and see the smoke from them, and IO love hte fact that I can do either or- Exhale vapor, or exhale nothing if need be.

I can see myself smoking the cigar for my morning smoke, which will be a huge victory for me as that a.m smoke I think for me is the hardest one to overcome- that and hte ‘before-bed-time’ cigg, then third woudl be the ‘after-meal-time’ ciggs, then 4′th most difficult woudl be the ’sitting-’round-and-jibber-jabbin-with-folks’ cigg, then 5′th would be the ‘break-time’ cigg, the 6′th most difficult battle would be the …. and so on and so forth- I’m hoping hte cigar will help defeat these trigger points for me to smoke real cigg|||Thanks for the review! Also, remember, that even htough loong’s cigars are $28 dollars right now, they have a shipping fee of anywhere from $30-$50 which makes htem more expensive htan Heavensgifts Ruyans, and next month when Loong’s sales are over, who knows how much loong will be charging for the cigars?|||OK folks, just a quick update- I’ve smoked 400 puffs (I puff until light goes out an count that as one puff, as it gives a good dose of vapor), and htought I’d give a quick update of my impressions.

First of all, obviously the Nic isn’t very strong, as I was a 1 pack a day smoker, and having puffed 400 fro mthe cigar, that is equivilent to about 4 packs of cigarettes (concidering a regular cig takes me 10 puffs to finish), and I’m still standing. If I tried smokign 4 packs of real cigarettes, I’d be lyign in a morgue soemwhere lol, so obviously the nic in the cigar certainly isn’t the = to real ciggs. I did have a couple of instances of dizzy and sweating, so it is deliverign some good nic- just not sure how much- I’d say probably more than 1 pack worth of nic at least, maybe two, as I’m sure if I tried smoking two packs of real ciggs, I’d probably experience the same instances of dizzy and sweating-

I’m not sure what my nic tolorance is nowadays as I’ve smoked eciggs and now ecigar liek htey’re going out of style, maybe my nic needs are up over2 packs now, and the cigar is packign more of a nic punch than I realize- but I don’t beleive it’s anywhere near 4 packs though.

OK, i’m liking hte flavor more now, it seems a bit strogner now, and does hit hte htroat a bit better than it did at first for some reason- perhaps because hte atomizer got saturated fro mthe cartridge while smokign it I guess.

The vapor at 400 is still about hte same as it was when I first started the cigar. I’ve discovered that if I want a real good throat and lung hit, that a 6 second straight inhale does hte trick quite nicely, and I’m thinking that this hit will help wean me off my morning real cigarette quite nicely, as I need a good strong smoke in the morning, and I think a few straight inhales from the cigar will accomplish this for me.

I’ve also discovered that I get more flavor by taking two puffs (puffign until light goes out), and just rolling hte vapor around in mouth, lettign soem escape, and taking a whiff of hte vapor as it rises near hte nose- you get a pleasant smell and taste this way I’ve found.

The taSte is much different than any ecig I’ve tasted, and it’s reminscent of a real cigar, very mild, but nice- I still think it could be ramped up more though, but again, it’s still a pleasant smokign expeirence and taste.

I’m not sure if I’ll smoke the cigar as heavy tomorrow, if not, I’ll wait until I reach 1000 puffs in a couple days to give another update of my impressions, then again around 1500 or so, if it makes it that long, then I’ll give my impressions of refilling when htat time comes. I’m smoking this cigar too fast, as the normal smoking would probably only do 100-150 a day, which means the battery would have to last for quite a number of days, and might affect the performance the more the days go by, so this review won’t reflect normal smoking, but will give a good idea of the capabilities and taste and vapor etc at least. a sorta rough baseline to judge by.|||I’m glad you are looking a the numbers game.. I’m horrible and have very little patience for counting puffs, hence why i don’t do it.

Thanks for the review, and i’m glad you are enjoying it. I’m sad that mine is on it’s way out. I was really starting to love the flavor and everything else. the non-disposable just doesn’t taste the same to me. Don’t worry, after i go grab some hats tomorrow i think i have like 6-10 videos to do and one will be the update on my ruyans. i might even refill the disposable on camera and see what it does.

Quick note as well. I think the smell of the vapor really impressed me. very reminiscent of a light,sweet cigar, but not as strong as a real one. i do enjoy it though.

Hello all,

I’ve been pretty much using my DSE901B all the time now, and I rarely use my Super-Mini (RN4081) at the moment.

The hit (the feeling in my throat) that I get from the DSE901 is much better, and the vapour seems a lot better too.

The thing is.. I’d been using my DSE901 all the time, and then realised the atomiser in the RN4081 was not working anymore, so I replaced it with a spare one.

I now get no feeling at all from the Super-Mini (RN4081) - I can’t even feel the vapour in my throat but I see it coming out when I exhale.

I can’t work out whether it could be the atomiser or the cartridges, or just that I’m more used to the hit I get from the Mini (DSE901) now.

Any thoughts on this?

trog|||Your right trog. Last night I was trying out Johnson Creek’s Smoke Juice and I gave it to my son, who only smokes menthol and half the time cuts the filter off, and he coughed his ass off. I was shocked. I thought it was really really smooth. LOL|||Could be the batteries, I have suspected my batteries in my penstyle are giving me a hard time along with my atomiser, I notice in the morning I put a fresh charges battery on and it comes back to life and also in the evening, long before the flashing light at the end. Tho in my case, it may be a bit of both, I with I could prove it but finally I have enough money to make an order tomorrow tho its all going into getting the DSE 901 rather than getting the penstyle going again!|||its silly to run the things right down.. they start off fresh off charge at 4.2 volts.. the off light comes on at 2.7 volts.. swop them half way thru their run time around 3.4 volts.. as they age their run time gets less..

buy new batteries at least every six weeks..

Just received my first DSE901! Got the pink one from Cash. I have been using strictly pen styles for 3 months now. The mini is so cute, especially since it’s pink and with a pink light. I just love it. It produces loads of vapor. Takes some getting used to though. The cartridges don’t last nearly as long, so I refill them a lot. Also there’s a tiny hole on the side of the atomizer which I keep covering up by mistake with my finger. It makes a little bit of a whistle sound. I do like the silence of my pen styles and the fact that the cartridges last longer. I was tickled pink (sorry) to get this little beauty and it’s great to show off with. An added bonus, part of the proceeds are going for breast cancer research, which make me feel justified in buying this new toy. Wish I could get a pink pen style though.||| |||Oh and one might want to be careful when ordering acrylic paints etc. What they might say is "black" or "white" really isn’t. Black tends to be a synonym for black-gray and white for white-gray. These will probably look like crap on e-cig. I haven’t ordered an e-cig yet, so i was thinking which one to go for. I ‘ve seen a lot of brands so i decided to jump in to your forum to see which one you suggest. NOW i got confused

So i ‘ve tried once an e-cig from a friend (normal cartr.) but i thought it was quite low for me and i couldn’t smoke easily (it was like seesha) I had to smoke for about 5-6 seconds to get a good puff.

Any suggestions on a first basis and then we continue.

I’ve been getting chesty on the old roll-ups. I only smoke about 18 a day but I’m heavily addicted, I think it’s the nicotine hit that I like most rather than anything else and so I was wondering why they hadn’t developed a ’safe’ cigarette yet - a cigarette that gave you a hit without the carcinogens, after all it sounds sensible. Most smokers are like me - they know they should give up but they can’t - but there has been no development to make the habit safer - which is extremely odd. Instead we have NRT patches etc. that really don’t deliver. They make me ill as well.

I was googling everything and found this e cigarette thingy. I’ve bought the mini from Elixir and I’ll give it a go. If it doesn’t satisfy me on the nicotine side, it’s not for me but I’ll let you know how it goes when I get it. I’m sceptical as I’m worried that it will turn out to be another horrible NRT.|||Drink!

Well, if the mini doesn’t do it for you don’t despair - my first e-cig wasn’t too great, but I’ve since got better ones. It is all rather confusing at the moment wrt brands and quality.

Will do.|||I have the mini DSE901 and even though there are several people who enjoy it and have given great reviews on it - I do not get the same satisfaction as I get from the penmodels. My favorite right at this moment is the Janty and on the way is the NJOY.

I have also purchased (4) e-cigarettes from E-cig but find that within 2-3 months they need to be replaced. Instead of continuing to spend that money, I invested in the Janty, hoping it will last longer and ordered the NJOY because of the reviews.|||Right, - I’ve just received my Mini Cig. I don’t know what make it is as it just says Mini Cig on it.

Initial impressions are that it looks quite good and well made. I cheated and charged the battery for half an hour and then tried it. The perfumy taste will take a while getting used to but, there was a very pleasant nicotine hit - much stronger than NRT and a lot more satisfying which makes me wonder - is this safe? If it is found to be safe, I think these things are going to be a winner - just get rid of the crappy LED on the end and write the instruction manuals in readable English and we’re there.

I’ll hold off a while before reviewing further while I get used to it and smoke it for a while - but initially all seems good. I’ll wait a while before I upgrade to an Njoy.

Paul|||Had this mini cig for a couple of days now and I’ve only smoked 3 cigs and those were smoked only because the free cartridges that I got didn’t really work.
The cartridges in the standard 5 pack work a treat though but I feel that the taste could be improved.

I’ve had no withdrawal from anything like I normally get on patches etc. Must be getting enough nicotine.

It could also be the result of being a roll-ups smoker. I remember noticing a weird withdrawal from standard cigarettes to roll-ups so God only knows what’s in the standard cigs.

I’m still suspicious about how long this will last for me as I’ve tried everything before but so far things look good.|||Smoked no cigarettes yesterday which for me is a bloody miracle.

Getting absoloutely sick of the taste - it’s horrible. I sincerely hope the sedansa tastes a LOT better.

So,

Got my cigar a couple weeks back and ever since I got it, I have used it non stop. The cigar offers a "hit" in the back of the throat/chest which would make non smokers cough is sooooo strong (ask my wifey ) And yes, i’m talking about inhaling the cigar, and YES, lots of smoke/vapor is visible on exhale.

Anyways … I have been longing for that very strong hit even when smoking Penstyles/Mini’s (DSE901) and it just hasn’t been there. So, kit and darcy gave me an idea based on another thread (found here E-LIQUID higher than 24mg) to take the liquid from a cigar cart and put in the penstyle.

Got home, and immediately went for my stash! Grabbed a brand new cigar cart, and syringed out the contents into an Egg holder (Kept a little in the cigar cart as well) Took the contents (Fiber/Eliquid) of a standard Penstyle cart out and Shoved in the Fiber/Eliquid of the cigar.

and the results ….. HOLY BATMAN !!! I got the same hit from the Penstyle as I normally did my cigar.|||what kid of cigar carts were they cash?||| |||WoW nice one cash sounds like it blowwed your socks off !

All we need now is cigar nic carts produced for penstyles ehh ?

my holy grail is vapour production.. so far nothing i have tried produces more vapour than a brand new 901 generic.. emphasis on the words "brand new".. not a week old not two weeks but old brand new.. i always keep a couple to use as yardsticks…

without an accurate yard stick human subjectively makes most of our comments meaningless..

saying i have been using one of these things for a while and its still okay is meaningless the only real test is to have two.. keep one as new then compare your two week old one with the brand new one.. the results will surprise u..

any of the three band new 901 generics i have easily out performs any of the cigars i have.. compared to my new 901 devices my last three cigars have turned into wimps in an unbelievably short time.. even my week old pipe simply dosnt produce as much smoke as my brand new 901 yardsticks..

i think the loong totem throw away your atomzer after just a single cart use whilst being slightly overkill really aint far from the truth..

these things dont have some magic prime when new.. they simply lose performance at an alarming rates of knots.. most people simply do not notice..

my brand new ruyan cigar that will arrive in a couple of days time will pretty much confirm my less than a few days old ruyan and the two even newer generic copies are now wimps…

my subjective head scratching thoughts that "these things aint going as well as they did".. will be confirmed..

to proove me right all u have to do is buy several of the devices at once.. give them all a quick test to confirm they are all working the same.. hold a couple back to use as accurate measuring sticks.. then watch how quickly your in daily use one deteriorates..

The thread need to be bumped to the top anyway. I just noticed that the first pictured super mini e-cig manufacturer was unknown. This is the first e-cig that I bought from Heavengift on E-Bay. I did contact him regarding the manufacturer and he informed me that it is one of the "largest manufacturers" (in Singapore I believe) Sailebao. I did google them and all looks legitimate. This is actually a nice little device - the downside is how long the cartridge lasts - about 10 cigs if lucky - but the flavor was good, a little sweet, and lots of vapor with relative regularity. Heavengift seemed to be reputable and very responsive to my questions.

I’ve had my dse901 for a short period of time now and want to try out using liquid but havent got a clue where to start so if someone could point me in the right direction then it would be much appreciated. I’m thinking of starting with the dripping technique when I get the liquid due to a odd burning taste/smell from using the cartridges and also they give me a bad chest. I’m after a smooth and not too sweet flavour which I’ll hopefully be able to stick to for the long term, was thinking something like vanilla.

Which flavours that are available in the UK are decent and would people recommend?

I have been using some e-liquid from the electric cigarette company malbora flavour this was good its not sweet quiet smooth.
I would also say it depends on your atomisor I have a few and I have noticed I get different taste and kick from each.
