so whats the verdict on those electronic baths?
i was just hoping to get some feed-back from those who purchased those jewelery cleaning baths. thinking about taking the plunge (well take my atomizers for the plunge really)..so whats the verdict? are they worth it or not? do they de-crudify the atomizers or was it all lost hope?
thanks|||I can tell you the cheap ones don’t work.|||That seems to be the general consenus on all of them unfortunately. Emp was commenting on his expensive version that it had cleaned up everything except his atomizers.
I think there are others that are trying different cleaning solutions in theirs, maybe there will be the right answer to make it work come along soon.
By rights it should really do a great job cleaning them up, as it works well on other intricately designed devices, I’m thinking of the wool and heater coil here, not the overall design of an atomizer which is basic really.
I’m going to continue with my current experiments to formulate an easy to make, easy use solution I think.|||Emps in the middle of testing one of these, but hes recovering after an eye operation so could be several weeks.|||OK…..just got done using the jewelry cleaner on a JantyKissbox atomizer.
It was about a week old and started using my new spare atomizer because of the "Burnt" taste that developed.
I believe that taste happens when you continue to smoke the cartridges after they have run low on juice. My advice is to buy some good juice and keep those cartridges topped off!
I first rinsed the atomizer in clean tap water and blew it out.
Then I filled the ultrasonic cleaner with white vinegar, popped the atomizer in and set it on high for about 4 to 5 minutes.
Rinsed it out again with plain water…..blew it out and used a hair dryer on warm to dry it as best I could.
I immediately dripped a few drops of juice in and installed a new cartridge.
Wow……burnt taste gone…..no harm done…..and it works like new.
I then did the same thing to my DSE901.
Same results…….seems to work like a charm.|||The question though is whether that’s a result of the ultrasonic cleaner, or just from rinsing it in tapwater.|||leaford’s right. the cheapy won’t even clean up my jewelry.|||well a big thanks to all the guinea pigs out there. so burns, which model did you go for? can you post a link? how much did it cost?
have you cheapies tried a vinegar solution too? or just water? perhaps it is a big factor.|||Agreed, as PG and nicotine are alkaline the acid of the vinegar maybe the missing link to getting ultrasonics to clean up atomizers.|||The unit I used was a ten year old Blitz Ultra 11.
It’s a battery operated POS I got for free when I bought a Sub-Mariner wrist watch.
Did a google and found this link:
(Sorry can’t post links till I have 15 posts)…….but it’s from Sears
I guess $22 from Sears isn’t too bad.
But I bet you could find the same thing or better at Big Lots or a $5 junk store.
