Just Bought E-cigarett (semi automatic) and have questions

Posted in General E-Smoking Discussion by ruyan on the November 8th, 2008

Hey all– I just got one of those e-/cigarette semi-automatic from dealextreme. Why?… because tropicalbob said to. Jk… but it seemed like the right one to try out e-smoking. I go through about a pack a day and I figure I gotta do something if I have any hope of playing tennis at any reasonable level. Getting allot more winded, much quicker now adays, and I’m still pretty damn young. So, with that said, I decided to give e-smoking a try. I read through just about every post on here and my question is basically this. Which cartridges should I buy to the semi automatic model from deal extreme. They don’t sell cartridges so I was just trying to find out which ones to get. I guess e-cig.com is the place to get em, just not sure which ones exactly. Also heard of the dry-smoking method and I might give it a try later on, that is if the I bought will even work when I get. Hopefully it will partially simulate the smoking sensation, that is what I’m looking for. I know I’m addicted to the motions just as much as to the , but i’m not that fond of the taste and smell of real cigarettes any more. Still too hard to just quit cold chicken. Any advice would be appreciated. BTW, are the cartridges being sold on Ebay out of missouri, U.S. compatible? That would be awesome if they were. Otherwise, please just let me know which model and if you have any e-smoking tips for the semi-auto device, I’d be glad to hear it. Geez, i’m excited about getting my e-ciggy; as if you can’t tell by this ridiculously long post.

ericD |||Uh oh, I’m in trouble now! I said to buy? Seriously, I’m still enjoying my e- from DealExtreme (mine is fully automatic, however).

I no longer bother with cartridges. Order e- cores from E-Cig along with a large bottle of . I also ordered the injector hypodermic, but it’s not necessary. The cores plug right into the DealExtreme . Just pull out the old one, plug in a new one and fill it up with .

My e- is as erratic as my other e-smoking . They are never the same — day to day or even puff to puff. Sometimes, lots of vapor. Sometimes, seemingly nothing. Same , same device, different results. For best results, keep that cartridge full of and change batteries long before you think you need to. I don’t do dry smoking.

Hope it works out for you. I don’t rely 100% on e-smoking, as you may have read. I use , Stonewall and nasal snuff — whatever I want at the moment. But I’m almost at 9 months off cigarettes, and that’s never happened before. My e-smoking are very helptful in keeping me off.|||RIght-o tropicalbob. The e- cores it is then and a little 3-liquid to boot. I sort of guessed that’s what it would be by comparing the included cartridges with the e-cig models. I actually just got off a chat session with meltrex and that’s what he thought too. Suppose I got an e- instead of an then huh? No big deal; I’m not really trying to make a fashion statement. High school was a long time ago. I picked the semi-auto one particularly for the reason you mentioned tropical’, the fully auto seem to have a hit or miss track record. Some posters suggest the semi is more consistent because its not airflow activated, so that’s why I chose it. Should arrive 4-5-08 according to the website. I will be sure to report my findings, perhaps even make a brief . Thanks for the help tropical. :geek:|||Please do post your impressions. I almost bought that semi-automatic model. It’s cheaper, for one thing, but might be more reliable without the trickly triggering mechanism required in the automatic model. When I was looking at the semi-automatic model, I read that the button cover sometimes falls off. But that’s okay. I had planned to put a wrapper (Kahlua, one of my all-time favorities) over the button and leave it there. Little added touch of realism.|||Yeah, I read about the button cover problem. I don’t think I’ll care as long as the button holds up. I suppose, besides it actually working, the biggest problem would be that I have to activate it. I can’t just pop it in between my teeth and puff away. That might get annoying after a while. I can always pick up another piece if It turns out that I like e-smoking. But for a starter, probably my best bet. BTW, can you tell me how many refills, approximately, I can get from a particular ml of ? Thanks.|||Not really. I’ve never measured. Suffice it to say that in over two months of e-smoking, I’ve only used three 8ml bottles. I have a 30ml bottle ordered that should arrive any day now. The stuff lasts a surprisingly long time.

Course, I did use up the cartridges that came with the , so it hasn’t all been smoking.|||As a side note; i noticed just now, after looking online, that deal extreme refunds your return shipping price and they have a miami return address. Nice. That’s a bit of a relief. 8-)|||I was also very eager to order that exact , mainly because the price is awesome and that semi-automatic just seem more reliable than automatic. The one thing that made me reconsider is the fact dealextreme has extremely slow shipping. They also have 7 day backorder on that , and it’s likely to extend even further. I had a lighter backordered one month a couple of months ago. That’s totally okay with a lighter, but not when it’s something you really want to try out as soon as possible.

But if you can wait, then it’s a really good deal. |||I also purchased semi-automatic from DX (two of them), but find it being semi-automatic is not really advantage. First, I had problem with one of the chargers doing "pop" and stopped working after only 5min of use. Second problem was that switches on semi-automatic version tend to "sink" into the and after few days I couldn’t use any of the two. Maybe this is just me pushing the switch little bit too strong - I don’t know. I disassembled one of them and found that switch is placed on the top of rather soft foam that fills plastic that holds .

Anyway - no luck with semi-automatic model. Now, I don’t know whether to buy fully automatic model from DX or simply go for some branded e- model. After experience with e-cigars from DX I think that e-smoking will work for me, just want to find model that really works, not smoke it for two days, than ask for replacement, wait another two weeks to come and then start the smoke-wait for the replacement cycle again.

Btw - I really like how (not cigarette or mini) model looks like, so I will be grateful if anybody can recommend good e- model that will work.|||I bought mine on the 29th, it is now being "packaged" and the website invoice/tracking system at DX says the ETA is the 5th (when i bought it, it was in stock). So, perhaps the shipping at DX isn’t that slow. I can’t say for sure since I am yet to receive it and perhaps it will arrive much later than the 5th. I do hope that it doesn’t fall apart like yours did. If it does, then I will send it back to miami and tell them to send me an automatic model. Nevertheless, I am eagerly awaiting its arrival and I will be sure to be gentle with the button. Just want to reiterate here that I’m very satisifed with the automatic e- I bought from DealExtreme. No problems and it looks exactly like other e-cigars selling up to $100. You can’t convince me that the insides are THAT different. It works or it doesn’t. This is a great deal.
