Ned
I received my L. T. shipment yesterday I ordered four new sets of v 10 with USB charger plus they sent me replacements batteries for the version 9.
So I have charged and used two sets of version 10 and two replacement batteries for version 9 and still have two other sets which I have put to one side at the moment.
Out of these four batteries only two performing okay the other two not lasting too long. So we still have an issue even with version 10 longer battery. The USB charger itself is very fragile if you screw the battery in too tight the USB unit starts to crack open. Where the battery makes contact in the charger just looks like a lump of solder stuck on the end of the electrical board. Which looks very brittle and could break off.
The two USB charges which I used in the computer I left on charge for about 10 hours but didn’t seem to have charged them at all very much. And I know I have no problems with my computer as I charge several devices up through it.
So I’ve charged with the original charges that came with version 9
I ordered two of their USB mains charges to but one of them is odd this one is not even listed on their website so God knows what I’ve got here. The packaging that the units came in is totally different to the website basically they’re just in white boxes with electronic cigarette written on the top of the box but all looks okay.
The new cartridges
I originally ordered menthol, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, but they told me they wouldn’t have coffee or chocolate till next week so I settled for Menthol vanilla and tobacco.
The menthol and vanilla are an improvement but the taste is short lived. Menthol doesn’t taste nothing like don’t ask me what I can’t explain. Vanilla is okay but taste is short lived.
The only one good thing I’ve noticed with the flavours is that you do get a bit more kick but then again that is short lived to and that’s when I’ve turned to dripping the cartridge again.
I also noticed yesterday they started doing flu cured tobacco cartridges . just my luck.
So some improvement on cartridges but still big issues we batteries. They tell me they will replace faulty batteries but if you are outside of China we have to pay shipping rates both ways.
So L. T. do have major quality problems as far as I am concerned the charges look tacky not well made and how companies like these can keep getting away with it and obviously have no pride in their work which is sad as they have a great product if it would only work right.
|||Sorry to hear abotu hte battery problems Ned- Is it the actual V-9 batteries not performing right? Or the charger? The white box packaging ‘might’ be becajuse they reduced their prices for hte month- not sure- but that might be hte reason.|||Nazareth I’m pretty sure its the old batteries again.
Two of them are working all right not perfect but okay and the other two performing about the same as my old L. T. batteries.
In fact the white boxes look better than the packaging of version 10 than on the website.
One thing I have noticed today these flavoured cartridges . if you heat them up too quickly you do get this burning taste you’ve mentioned before and one of my employees said the vapour literally looked like real smoke today and they could smell the burning from the vapour.
So I dripped the cartridge with Marlborough liquid but there is still a hint of burning taste there. And I have noticed this on a couple of three cartridges.
There looks to me like there is more paper or sponge which ever you want to call it in these flavoured cartridges and my previous ones had a blue wire in the middle as you know but these have a red wire in the centre.|||I don’t get the burning taste/smell until the atomizer is about kaput- it actually tastes quite good right up until that point- and that point has varied- soem at 20-30 hours, and two recent ones at aroudn 10 hours. The one I have now gave that burn at 10 hours, and I have been refillign it since that happened, and it fixed hte problem- with no burning now, but who knows for how long it will last.
That wire change is wierd- it seems it’s reversed. The blue wire is soldered to the outside ring which contacts with the threads, and the red wire is soldered to the inside ring which contacts with hte inside ring in the battery- that’s the way it’s supposed to be- reversing it would negatively affect the battery I woudl think. Can you post pictures of one of htose cartridges taken apart so the solderings can be shown? It might very well be a manufacturing mistake and it might just be that your old cartridges might work better with hte new batteries with hte correct wiring if indeed hte new cartridges are indeed wired wrong- worth a try|||Nazareth I’ve tried using my old cartridges with and against the new ones there doesn’t seem to be any different at all.
But as yet I have only opened up a couple of three of the new cartridges.
So I did try using the old ones tobacco taste to see if the new shipment tobacco taste if there were any difference and those the same it’s only when you put flavours cartridge in you notice a difference where they do give you a bit more kick than normal tobacco.
I can’t take any pictures at present as my cameras are not here as they are being used on a photo shoot.|||Two weeks ago,i receive an email from loongtotem said that all the products were sold at a discount of 35%,so i purchased two sets of v10,it costed me only $83.9,and they both worked very well, especially the two USB charges.|||only $83? You’re fogettign hte shipping cost which is another $50- and you only got 4 cartridges? Glad your chargers worked- others are not havign as good luck as you.
Just two stinking batteries and a charger is goign to cost me well over $100- rediculous! Even at their "35% discount"!|||Ned- Any updates on how your devices are working? I’m curious abotu hte cigars and the pipe- but also wanna know how hte chargers and batteries are doing||| ||| Linda- I’m sorry, but htese batteries should only be $15 max- there is nothign special abotu htem at all- they last a mere 3-4 hours tops, before needing recharging, which is actually even worse than other batteries, and htere is no way they should be nearly $50 apiece. LoongTotem would do themselves a HUGE favor if htey lowered hte price of their batteries and their shipping fees because a lot of peopel would love ot give hteir product a try, but are put off by the rediculously high prices o nthe batteries and shipping. IF LoongTotem lowered hteir prices, they would have one of hte best sellign products o nthe market right now. What little they are makign by chargign the few peopel liek us who buy hteir products at the rediculous high prices could be probably quadruppled if htey lowered hteir prices. I know I woudl have bought much more from them had hteir prices been lower, so they’ve lost some sales from me by keepign hteir prices so highNazareth, ned,Mr.Darcy,i am sorry, but why do you say that? i just once used the products of loongtotem, and just say out my feeling, not want to advertise for loongtotem, and not work for it,maybe the way i speaking is not good,i am sorry.

Anyone tried CigStar?
Hi, I’m new here, and about to try e-smoking as an alternative to roll-ups. I’ve been looking around, and after looking at the rather expensive SuperSmoker, I came across CigStar. Has anyone tried them?
I’d prefer to buy e-cigs from a UK supplier, rather than from Europe or China, mainly because I can phone them and ask questions (or complain!). Hopefully they’ll enable me to get rid of this permanent cough and generally make me a nicer person to be around!|||dunno about cigstar, but ive bought from an english fella on ebay-pillbox38.he has the same or a similar model cheaper and with more cartridges.hes a helpful guy, has good customer service, and will answer your queries and deal with problems.ultimately its up to you to decide tho.i just recommend him from my personal experience so far.|||Thanks for the comments, Mr Darcy, much appreciated. I’ve placed an order for a Super Mini e-cig kit with pillbox38, although due to this being a bank holiday weekend in the UK, it probably won’t arrive until the end of the week.
I decided not to order from one company I spoke to because the guy was very vague about the supply of cartridges, and when I asked him about the taste, he said he’d tried them but because he’s 17, he didn’t smoke! They might be OK but I didn’t get a good feeling about buying from them.
Malcolm|||no problem.id like to hear your opinion on the supermini,as i have the other two that pillbox sells, and i was thinking of getting one of those as they are small enough to be discreet, although i realise battery and cartridge life will be shorter-but thats the compromise…let me know how you get on.|||I thought I’d give the 10cm Super a fair trial before replying and, I’m glad to say, it’s a favourable report! I’ve never owned an e-cig before, so of course I’ve got nothing to compare it to, but these are my impressions.
When it arrived, and I fired it up for the first time, I honestly hated it and thought I’d just chucked away 35 quid. However, it didn’t take too much getting used to, and now I love it. I’ve still got some baccy and straights left (cos I’m too tight to chuck them out!), and I occasionally try one, and I don’t miss the tobacco at all.
I’m still getting used to the routine of an e-cig, I tend to hang on to it and keep dragging, but that’s no problem because I’m using the low strength cartridges. One thing I’ve noticed is that I have to pull quite hard on it after the initial freshness of a cartridge has worn off which makes the facial muscles ache a bit. I haven’t had to replace the atomiser yet so maybe that’s due soon - how will I know when it’s due for replacement?
In terms of cost, I’m a heavy smoker, and it’s costing me about the same. I was smoking ‘loose’ tobacco, suitable for hand rolling, but with a lower rate of tax here in the UK - possibly the cheapest form of smoking bar stealing it or growing your own!
The benefits are obvious, my rather bad cough disappeared within a couple of days, and I can walk briskly without puffing anywhere near as much. The lack of ash trays and the absence of a constantly smoky atmosphere in the house and car are also a huge bonus. I’ve used my e-cig in a couple of pubs and in motorway services although, much to my annoyance, I’ve not been challenged yet!… plenty of time for that I guess
I can heartily recommend pillbox38, his service is very good and he’s a friendly guy, and he also launched his website a little while ago.
Malcolm||| |||you have a bling cigar havnt you bishybob?believe me i know what you mean.the ruyan cigar carts i got were sickening,as i hate the taste of cigars-they were stronger and more realistic than i expected.ive still got them, and i just dripsmoke the cigar with liquid,it took forever to get rid of the cigar flavour.i cannot abide the taste of those cartridges.anyway,im glad youre enjoying yourself with it,have fun!
|||Hey guys
Talking of CigStar - I just purchased one last week after a friendly and infomative chat with the owner and it arrived next day. The problem I had was the one I purchased from Pillbox after reading this conversation wouldn’t charge and the guy was reluctant to offer me any help! The CigStar seems to work very well with a longer battery life than my old one and the taste seems nicer.
I’d reccommend CigStar to anyone looking for a decent E-Cig. All credit to CigStar!
Hope that helped!|||I am surprised you had a problem with Pillbox, he get really good comments, I haven’t used him myself, I get my stuff from Electronic Cigarette | Free Yourself… | e-cigs Welcome (smokester) on the forum and have always had excellent service and I think he is cheaper than the one you used
|||yeah i smell poop. pill-box replaced any defective parts i had pronto. That sounds very strange! I have bought a lot (no, make that A LOT) of stuff from Pillbox, and always had great service from him. No problems whatsoever, except for a package which was held by the shipping agent up in the UK for about a week, but that’s hardly Pillbox’s fault…

any one new to e-cigs must read this
I have been looking at all the new posts over the last few days and had to post this.
All newbies take note this is very important read it all.
I myself was a newbie once and I got myself a kit and some carts.
THIS WAS A BAD MISTAKE.
1 atomiser 2 batteries 1 charger and 300 carts.
I thought that’s all I need.
The new atomiser was great and when the battery ran out I changed it with the fully charged spare and put the dead one on charge. When the second battery died I went to the charger still charging (it took another 1 hour) this happened all the time.
don’t just but 1 kit you will be well dissapointed.
You will think the e-cig is a waste of time.
If you live in the UK buy your stuff from SMOKSTER OR PILLBOX.
If you want to quit the fags this what you need.
THIS IS WHAT I WOULD CALL THE MINIMUM.
I would get more but this is the bare min.
3 Atomisors
5 Batteries
3 Chargers
1 bottle e-liquid
loads of carts 100 at least.
The above will cost you 拢100 ish thats about 400 fags.
I know its a big amount at the start but is your life worth 拢100
I spent 拢300 in the first moth buying a load of rubish then I found SMOKSTER OR PILLBOX.
in the USA I hear Cashmere is good or you can talk to some of the USA users.
I dont want to repeat myself but I must if you want to give this a good go spend at least 拢100 if not 拢100 to 拢300 on plenty of stuff and plenty of spares.
If you stop and you dont need them any more you can always sell them on e-bay.
DONT BUT A KIT
I know I am going on a bit but if I can stop one person from smoking normal fags or save one life from cancer caused by smoking this will be worth while,
So what will it be 拢300 on a super starter kit (And I dont even sell the stuff)( SUPPLIERS YOU OWE ME LOL) or you die a long and slow death from cancer and you also spend 拢1000000000 on fags.

|||I totally agree with you with a majority of this as you do need two units if you are a heavy smoker you will get through three to four batteries a day and allowed up to five carts day depending on which model.
Two units will give you a four batteries anyway but I do agree with lots of cartridges but if you bought 100 of the same flavour that could mean trouble for some people not liking that particular flavour as you know it does take time to discover which flavour that suits you so go for more of a mix.
But the biggest problem is getting hooked on trying various electronic cigarettes and cartridges and liquids which we have spent around 拢2000 in 10 weeks trying everything out there but it has been so much fun and enjoyable but you also kept our minds off smoking real cigarettes and has also given us so much information to share with others
|||wow you have spent big time|||I sure have but I am still bloody spending but I must admit I am slowing down now because there is not much more to try and I am quite comfortable with what I have settled with. with the technology at the moment.
|||good post, Ice. My big recommendation is to have 4 chargers and (at least) 5 batteries. That makes a device full-time for me. If I don’t have at least that many it’s an occasional use toy. I’ve just bit the bullet on my Janty KB Classic and have extra batts and chargers coming. It’s been great as a now-and-then-er - we’ll see how good it is as the lead cig.
Emp|||Very good advice here. I’d just like to add something for anyone on a tight budget who has never tried ecigs.
To start off, not everybody swaps from cigs to ecigs, some find that they don’t like ecigs. It’s a pity to make a big investment if you’re not sure it’s for you.
Smokester and Pillbox deliver very quickly, sometimes the day after ordering. There are also speedy services in the States and as far as I can tell Europe. You might need to consider different strategies if you live anywhere else.
It’s not necessary to buy everything at once. You can choose to buy one decent generic and just a few cartridges to try it out. If you take to it then it won’t take long to get your hands on all the other supplies you’ll want, listed in the posts above. Buying everything at once only makes sense if you know you have a good supplier, price, device, flavour and you like vaping already. OR if you might have shipping problems or delays.
Once you get a few weeks or months into the experience you’ll probably want to invest in something posher than a generic. Decent guarantees can make posh brands cheaper in the long run, replacing generic components adds up long term.|||Nice Post/warning/Information Ice.
Hello, My Name is Steele, and I’m a Noob..hehe
Only thing is, I would Not want to scare off noobs to E-cigs with those "Requirements".
By your Numbers I could just not justify $200-$600us all at once. Money is real tight for a lot, and i am sure its not just here in the States.
Warning that you will not be able to use it 18 hours straight on 2 batteries, and replace a 2.5pack a day habit right out of the box, is a great idea.
Only reason I knew that was, I always read everything i can find before jumping into something I dont know anything about. Like E-cigs
|||Excellent suggestion iceman. I’ve long been advising new buyers to get spare parts with their first order.
I’m working with my manufacturer at the moment to put together a sensible starter kit that includes multiple atomizers and extra batteries|||Very good point Kate If you are just wanting to try it out a basic kit is ok with a few flavours.
What I should of said was If you are going to use the e-cig to stop real fags all together you realy need to buy lots of batteries and chargers like Emp said.
I made the mistake of buying a starter kit only and it was a nightmare having to wait for the charger.
What I should have done is worked out how much I was going to spend on fags for two weeks and used this to buy e-cigs in my case it was about 拢10 a day so I should of spent 拢140 I could of got.
Mini Starter Pack x3
Mains Charger
USB Charger
Battery
100 Cartridges
That would of give me 7 batteries 5 chargers 3 atomisors and with the starter kit offer 145 carts.
If only I could turn back the clock.
|||some cheap chinese chargers dont seem to like the UK 240 volts system overly much.. i have several that have died on the mains input but still work perfectly when the 12 volt option is used..
most are sold to the 110 volt american market and even thow they are dual rated 110/240 rated dont really like the 240 option..
but two generic kits and some spare atomizers and batteries should keep anybody going for a while.. but it has to be cheap generics the brand names work out way to expensive to use this system..
also with the little super mini latest type e cig expect if u are a real 20/30 a day man to find the carts only to last the equivalent of two or three real cigs at the most.. some of the makers claims are fraudulent rubbish..
if u have to have the small cart super minies buy liquid to top them up else expect to spent a fortune on carts.. six carts per day is about what to expect if u want to really feed your nic habit as opposed to giving up..
i get thru 2 ml of liqiud per day.. this would equate with 8 super mini carts per day..
not exactly viable from a cost point of view..
trogI know what you mean trogg I seem to be topping up my cart every hour. Its a shame you could not get a bigger cart. One thing that I have also noticed some carts seem to last longer than others. After pulling the foam out to clean it I have found them to be different sizes and from trying different amounts I have found that a small amount of foam topped up with liquid is a lot better and it seems to last longersome facts arrived at so far..
from a nicotone delivery point of view claims of one cart equaling twenty cigarettes are lies.. fact
these things are bing miss-sold.. they are not really suitable for a 20/30 a day person to replace their nicotine delivery system with.. fact
to do the above both atomizer and battery will need regular replacing.. fact
the cost and availability of both liquid and spare parts play a large part in the viability of doing the above.. some sellers are in essence charging way too much for cheap chinese devices and the fluid thats needed to run them.. fact
it is possible tho not easy to do the above (replace a 20/30) a day cigarette habit with e smoking.. it can also be done in a cost effective way fact
i have no valid informartion on the needs of placebo smokers.. what they "imagine" is unfathomable to me.. fact
from now on i only deal in facts..
trogone thing anyone new to e cigs should know is the initial joy of finding a way to get off the killer tobacco habit wears off..
when it does and the buying spree is also over the niggles seem to mean lot more..
my buying spree is over.. my initial joy is over.. my niggles have gotten worse.. all i now want is an e cig that works in the same reliable way as my (our) roll-ups did..
i have to keep two people going with e cigs.. myself and my mentally handicapped schizophrenia suffering eldest son.. we are both heavy nicotine addicts..
part of me says all i have to do is use a 901 device and a pair off batteries every week and then bin them.. the miserly part of me makes me try and get the longest life out of the things as i can before they go in the ever growing pile of not quite dead but then again not really healthy parts bin..
its a lifetimes habit of frugality.. in moments of greatest frustration i have made the decision to thow them away after ones weeks use but cant seem to stick to it..
the part of e smoking that bothers me the most is the gradual degradation of both the atomizer and the batteries.. i know the 901s i use work okay for the first week.. after the first week it all gets muddled.. atomizers produce less vapour and battery run times drop off..
battery run time is more important when away from home and the charger.. but the pressure switch gets dodgy and unreliable as well..
it is purely a financial thing.. but i still keep going thru the indecision phase.. i just dont like throwing one away if it kinda seems to be working..
i wish to hell the things just died an obvious death.. a built in self destruct after one week is what i need..
real cigs die an obvious death.. e cigs just kinda cease to work as well.. knowing quite when they should be sent to the e icg rest home in the sky is my main e smoking problem i think.. a built in meanness dosnt help.. he he..
trog
