Product Information
The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette is a revolutionary device that acts much the same way as a tobacco cigarette, but rather than toxic smoke, it produces a propylene glycol vapor similar to that produced with theatrical fog machines. The differences between a tobacco cigarette and the INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette are as follows:
- The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette contains at most 20 ingredients based on the type of eLiquid that has been purchased. Tobacco cigarettes have been found to contain up to 599 ingredients, before burning.
- No ignition is required. The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette does not use combustion (burning). It uses vaporization. Combustion tobacco cigarettes heat to around 1000 degrees, while vaporizers, such as the electronic cigarette, heat up to between 40 degrees and 65 degrees. The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette does not need to be lit with fire and creates no second or third hand smoke. As this product does not burn, it is truly the only Fire Safe Cigarette. With combustion, anywhere between 4000 and 10,000 chemicals are released, creating second hand smoke. A few of the ingredients of second hand smoke include Aersonic, Carbon Monoxide and Formaldehyde to name some of the worst. Vaporization does not create these chemicals.
- The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette is the environmentally friendly alternative for smokers. The only cigarette butt is produced by exchanging your plastic mouthpiece for a new one. This mouthpiece is made of #2 plastic and can be thrown into the recycling bin by removing the wick which can be thrown into the garbage. (Please use tweezers to remove the wick). As noting burns, there is also no second hand smoke containing carbon monoxide, which is dangerous to the environment, the smoker, and those around the smoker.
This picture shows the result of a carton and a half of cigarettes vs the waste produced by one bottle of eLiquid which is equivalent to the same 300 cigarettes based on puff count.
Please Note:
- To ensure your unit works properly, please read this manual. It will prevent damage to the hardware, moutpieces, cartridges, and accessories.
- The charger works under normal conditions with the voltage at AC100V-240V, 50/60Hz, or DC6-24V.
- Keep the INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette separated from other articles to avoid un-necessary collision. As with any electronic, please prevent it from mixing with metal articles in your pocket, purse, or other bags. This can result in a short circuit or damage to the battery. In your kit, you have been provided with a black velvet carry pouch to carry hardware and small ziplock bag for carrying mouthpieces and liquid items. PLEASE USE THEM.
- Please never dismantle your unit or hardware accessories. (This does not include mouthpieces.) It will void any warranty or guarantee.
- Please keep your unit and eLiquid away from high temperatures while either in-use or in storage.
- This product is not intended for persons under the age of 18 and it is strongly suggested you keep it out of reach of children and pets. The action of smoking and nicotine usage are adult activities and should be respected as such.
- The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette IS NOT A TOY.
Components of the INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette Kit
The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette kit includes the following:
- USB Charger with Wall Charger Adaptor (Canadian Kit offers a different charger)
- 5 Empty Mouthpieces with cartridges in a small ziplock bag (not shown in the picture above)
- Black Velvet Bag which includes: 2 batteries, 2 atomizers housed in a small ziplock bag
- Quick Start Card

Shown above from left to right is the mouthpiece (which contains the cartridge), the atomizer (sliver), and the battery (white). The atomizer screws into the battery and the mouthpiece slides onto the atomizer.
The Battery
The INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette uses a 3.6V lithium batter which cannot be replaced with other lithium batteries and chargers. The input supply voltage of the charger is AC100-240V, 50/60Hz, or DC 6-24V. The battery will work for a minimum of 200 charges.
Charging the Battery
Currently, there are two types of chargers in circulation. If you purchased your INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette before May of 2009 OR you purchased your kit in Canada, you will have Charger Type 1. If you have purchased your INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette kit after May of 2009, your charger is a Type 2.
Type 1: This charger consists of a wall plug and a charger. To charge the battery, plug the wall cord into the charger and plug into the electrical outlet. The indicator light on the charger will be green. Screw the battery into the charger. The LED on the end of the battery will flash when 10 times when connection is made. You will also notice that the light on the charger itself has gone from green to red. When the light on the charger returns to green, charging is done.
Type 2: This charger consists of a USB charger and wall application. Plug the USB portion into the wall application and plug the wall application into the electrical outlet. The indicator light on the USB charger will go blue and the indicator light on the wall application will go green. Insert the battery into the USB portion by gently pushing. The LED on the battery will flash 10 times when connection is made. You will also notice that the light on the USB portion will go from blue to red and the light on the wall application will go from green to red. When BOTH lights have returned to their original colors of blue and green, then battery is done charging.
On both Type chargers, if you notice the following, please visit the Troubleshooting section:
- The LED light on your battery does not flash
- The lights on the chargers, whether you have one or two, do not change colors as directly described in the above explanations.
- Your initial charge takes less than one hour.
- You have used your battery and know that it is completely dead, yet takes less than one hour to charge.
Reasons the Battery LED Will Flash
There are several reasons your battery LED might flash. This is the light at the end of your battery. All kits come with a blue LED.. If you have a blue LED, it WILL ALWAYS produce a blue light. Extra batteries with orange LED’s can be purchased and these WILL ALWAYS produce an orange light.
- Battery needs charging.
- There is a “safety” feature. If too many puffs are taken in under one minute, your LED will flash noting it is possible for overheating or nicotine overdose.
- The battery is recognizing a problem with the atomizer, most likely more eLiquid is needed.
- After 1500 inhales, the micro-computer housed within the atomizer will activate a “cleaning”. The battery will glow solid for 20 seconds letting you know this is happening.
Precautions for the Battery
- Keep the battery and the charger away from high temperature sources.
- Keep the battery and the charger away from other metals.
- Do not weld the battery components directly and do not pierce through the battery.
- In case of battery leakage, do not touch your face. If you do, please wash with clean water immediately and seek medical attention.
- The charger can be used for the special lithium battery of the INSTEAD Electronic Cigarette ONLY.
- If you will not be using your battery for awhile, take the battery out of the charger. The charger IS NOT for storage.
The Atomizer
The atomizer contains a microcomputer controlled circuit. This circuit heats up the eLiquid, which will be placed in the cartridge. When the user takes a drag (inhalation), the battery causes the atomizer to activate and the heating process begins. As the atomizer is a vaporizer, a small heating element, keep it as dry as possible. Do not submerge and do not apply liquid directly to the atomizer.
The atomizer can and may go bad. This piece, like your battery has a limited life and will need to be replaced. The estimates on usage are different depending on your usage. INSTEAD acknowledges that hardware can have imperfections. It is strongly suggested that you test all atomizers upon arrival to insure they are working. It is NOT suggested eLiquid be dripped directly onto the atomizer.
The Mouthpiece and Cartridge
The mouthpiece looks like a cigarette butt. The mouthpiece contains the cartridge and the wick. The cartridge is the small white cup found in the mouthpiece. The cartridge contains a poly-batting filling called the wick. It is HERE where eLiquid will be placed. Each cartridge can hold a maximum of 8-10 drops of liquid. See Filling your Cartridge.
The picture on top is a mouthpiece (brown) with the cartridge (white) taken out. The picture on the bottom is the mouthpiece and cartridge standing upright. The cartridge is a small plastic “cup” with a wick inside. This wick is filled with e-liquid until saturation. The cartridge can be taken out of the mouthpiece by pushing a pin through the small hole in the mouthpiece. The cartridge just slips back into the mouthpiece after refilling. It can be filled while in the mouthpiece if you have a steady hand.
The eLiquid Solution
Currently, INSTEAD Electronic Cigarettes offers two types of liquid: American Made eLiquid and Imported eLiquid. The American Made eLiquid is manufactured in the United States. The Imported eLiquid is manufactured in China. There are some differences in ingredients used as well as a slight taste difference. All bottles come with a list of ingredients, warnings and child proof protection. It is YOUR responsibility to insure that your children and pets are safe. INSTEAD has provided you with everything necessary to insure such responsibility and takes no responsibility if you cannot be responsible.
Also to note: The bottles are slightly different. For instance, the American eLiquid comes in a black glass bottle with a black label. Upon opening the bottle for the first time, you will see a small plastic insert. This insert needs to be removed by popping it out with a spoon. This insert is to ensure leakage does not occur during transport. Your purchase of American eLiquid also came with an eye dropper. Use this eye dropper to transfer eLiquid from the bottle to the cartridge. The Imported eLiquid has a built in eye dropper. Pierce this with a pin, do not cut with scissors. It will help in dispersing only the amount of liquid needed. If you would like, the Long Spouted eLiquid Bottle can be used with either of the liquids. However, this bottle is plastic and is not childproofed so it is your responsibility to make sure that is cared for properly and OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS. See Filling your Cartridge.
Whether you choose Imported or American Made eLiquids, each bottle is the equivalent of 300 tobacco cigarettes or a carton and a half. There are two methods to filling the cartridge with eLiquid. See Filling your Cartridge.
Precautions for the eLiquid
- Once the mouthpiece has been used, it does contain nicotine residue. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS.
- Please store your eLiquid in a cool, dry, dark, SAFE place.
- Shelf life of the eLiquid is approximately 10 months from purchase date. Our stock sits no longer than one week prior to purchase.
- Please do not attempt to mix any other liquids with the eLiquid. It is ok to mix one level of nicotine with another, but it is not ok to add anything to your liquid in an attempt to make it last longer. Doing so could also ruin your atomizer, battery, make you ill or a combination of any or all.
How to Use the Electronic Cigarette – Getting Started
So now that you know the parts, time for the fun part! We strongly suggest following these directions IN ORDER.
Installation
First, charge your batteries. See Charging your Batteries. Once you have charged at least one battery, you are ready to eSmoke! Some kits may have pre-charged batteries. If so, your packaging slip will have a sticker on it noting this.
- Take one battery and one atomizer (it will look like a cigarette butt and there will be 2 of them in a small zip lock bag) and screw them together. Your unit should look just like a cigarette.
- Hold on to the battery with one hand and the brown mouthpiece with the other and pull the brown piece off. This action will expose the atomizer which should now be screwed into the battery. THROW THE MOUTHPIECE AWAY!!!! Why? Look down into it. You will notice that it is empty. There is no cartridge and no wick.
- From the small ziplock bag that contains 5 mouthpieces, take one out, remove it from it’s individual wrapping and remove the rubber stopper. Set the rubber stopper to the side as it will come in handy later. See Filling your Cartridge section.
- Look down into the mouthpiece. You will see a small, white cup, the cartridge. Inside of that small cup is a poly-batting filling also known as the wick. It is HERE you will place 2-4 drops of liquid to yield 7-14 puffs.
- Once you have applied the eLiquid, place the mouthpiece on the atomizer, making your unit look like a cigarette again.
- To get the unit going, take a few quick puffs vs. deep inhales. This will cause the liquid to slowly drop onto the atomizer.
- Please note: With brand new atomizers there is a breaking in period, kind of like shoes. After an hour of heavy usage, you will find that inhalation becomes easier and vapor production stronger. New mouthpieces will also need a little time to absorb the liquid. As the hour/day goes on, you will find that you need to put fewer drops in to yield more puffs.
How it Works
When your unit is assembled and is not in use, it is essentially off. To use, take a drag. To stop, stop taking drags. While taking drags, the LED light indicator at the tip of your battery will glow solid. If it is flashing, see Reasons the LED will Flash under the battery section of this manual. By taking a drag, the battery charges the atomizer which heats up the e-Liquid creating a vapor, which can be inhaled and exhaled. The tiny holes found in the gold ring are where your unit will take in air.
Upkeep
Upkeep is extremely easy. After every 1500 inhales, the micro-computer housed within the atomizer will automatically clean the atomizer. The LED light indicator will glow solid for 20 seconds, letting you know this is happening. If you notice your atomizer seems “sluggish” after a bit of usage, but you don’t feel you have hit 1500 inhales, a dry cleaning method is suggested.
To dry clean: Remove the mouthpiece from the atomizer which should still be connected to the battery. Put the LED end of the battery into your mouth and gently push air up through the battery and into the atomizer. GENTLY. If any residue build up has occurred, this will burn off. If you do not get any residue, then STOP. You can blow out your atomizer by forcing to much air OR by letting the atomizer activate for too long without any liquid.
It is suggested that a new mouthpiece be used at least once a week. This will ensure that your mouthpiece stays clean and also stays tight on the atomizer. It is also suggested that if you have the cold or flu or someone else uses your electronic cigarette, change you mouthpiece to stop the spread of germs.
Filling Your Cartridge
There are several different ways to fill your cartridge. One method does not fit all so give each of these a shot and see which works best for you.
The Prefill Method
Supplies needed: A toothpick or pin and a paper towel
- Lay the paper towel on a flat surface.
- Take all 5 mouthpieces and remove them from their individual wrappers.
- Take out all rubber stoppers, set to the side.
- Take one of the mouthpieces and hold it between your finger tips. Insert the toothpick or pin through the small hole that would otherwise go into your mouth, and gently push the cartridge out of the mouthpiece. (The cartridge should now be sitting on your workspace)
- Repeat step 4 to all mouthpieces. You should now have 5 cartridges sitting on the workspace.
- Take your eLiquid and put 2-3 drops of liquid into each cartridge. Let the wick absorb.
- Once absorbed, add 2-3 more drops. Continue to do this to each cartridge until the cartridge can hold no more. This is usually a maximum of 8-10 drops per cartridge.
- Carefully drop the cartridges back into the mouthpiece. Make sure that when the cartridge goes in, you can see the wick.
- Take the rubber stopper and put it back into the mouthpiece.
- Place all mouthpieces into your small ziplock bag and carry RUBBER STOPPER UP. After you have done this to all of your mouthpieces you will have the equivalent of ¾ of a pack to 1 pack of cigarettes, depending on your usage.
This method is great for those who might have eyesight issues, those on the go, or those who find they get liquid in their mouths. If you are getting liquid in your mouth, you are a “messy dripper”. “Messy dripping” happens in the beginning but if you find you are still a messy dripper after a week of usage, you will probably need to try this method. It will save your eLiquid and prevent it from getting into your mouth.
The Using Your Electronic Cigarette Like a Tobacco Cigarette Method
With this method, you will fill your cartridge every time you use it. Instead of lighting a cigarette, you will drop liquid into your cartridge. It is strongly suggested if you are a “messy dripper” or have trouble lining up the dropper with the cartridge that you purchase our Long Spouted E-Liquid Dropper Bottle. If you have a Long Spouted eLiquid Dropper Bottle, pierce the spout with a pin, do not cut with scissors. This will enable you to have more control over the amount of eLiquid dispersed. Please note that our Long Spouted eLiquid Dropper Bottle is plastic and does not have a childproof cap. Therefore, your utmost attention to children and pets is expected. The Long Spouted eLiquid Dropper Bottle is not necessary, it only makes this method easier.
- Remove the mouthpiece from the cartridge.
- Place 2-4 drops of eLiquid on the wick.
- Replace the mouthpiece on the atomizer.
Troubleshooting
Every eSmoker should have at least two batteries and two atomizers on hand. Our kits provide you with both so that you can switch between pieces, extending the life, as well as giving you an opportunity to troubleshoot on your own. Only you can determine if vapor production from one atomizer to another is similar, better or worse, and only you can determine other type problems with your unit. It is STRONGLY suggested that if you find a trouble piece, take that troubled piece and use it with one that you KNOW works well.
Batteries:
1. My battery is blinking.
- Battery needs charging.
- There is a “safety” feature. If too many puffs are taken in under one minute, your LED will flash noting it is possible for overheating or nicotine overdose.
- The battery is recognizing a problem with the atomizer, most likely more eLiquid is needed. If not liquid, see troubleshooting of the atomizer.
- After 1500 inhales, the micro-computer housed within the atomizer will activate a “cleaning”. The battery will glow solid for 20 seconds letting you know this is happening.
- In this example, a solution could be the following: Inside of your battery are small “switches”. These switches go on and off when the user inhales or when the battery is put into the charger. Sometimes, these switches can get stuck due to juggling during transport or wind during usage. To see if your switch is stuck:
- Take the atomizer off of the battery.
- Put the battery into your fist, LED down.
- Imagine a cold day when you are warming your hand by blowing air into your fist, do the exact opposite. Pull air out. This will activate the LED which will hopefully un-stick the switch.
- Put the battery back onto the charger. Let it charge. Then use it. Does it perform better? You might need to go through some usage with this battery once or twice, smoking it down until the LED does not respond anymore and then charge again. If this method does not work, the battery is either bad (if it is new) or it is dead and time for a new one (if it has been used quite a bit). If you are within your first 30 days, please let us know and we will supply you with a replacement.
2. The battery does not seem to hold a charge.
- If you have just pulled the battery off of the charger and it doesn’t seem to be holding any power, it is possible there is something wrong with the battery. If you have been using the battery for an extended period of time, it might be time for a new battery.
- When placing the battery on the charger for the first time, if you notice that the lights on the charger are not responding as noted in “Charging Your Battery”, then it is possible there is something wrong with the battery.

Sometimes, these switches can get stuck due to juggling during transport or wind during usage. To see if your switch is stuck:
3. The LED on my battery does not work at all.
- If the battery is brand new out of the box, you have put it on the charger properly and the LED does not flash, make sure that your charger is properly assembled and the lights that should be represented on your charger and showing as they should. If they are and there is still no LED on the battery, please let us know so we can replace.
- If the battery has been used, then it either needs a charge or it is dead and it’s time for a new one.
Atomizers:
Atomizers are the most fickle of the hardware. They are the workhorse so problems will most likely be coming from here or caused here.
1. Little to No Vapor
- Check the eLiquid. Without eLiquid there IS NO vapor. 9 times out of 10… THIS is the problem.
- Make sure the atomizer is screwed in nice and tight to the battery. Do not force. Just make sure it is snug.
- Take the atomizer from one battery to another. Does it work the same on both batteries? If so, in the case of a new atomizer, it most likely has an issue. If it is an old atomizer, it has reached the end of it’s life.
- If the atomizer is new, do not forget, you are going to need to break it in.
- If the atomizer has had a good solid usage time, it is time for a new atomizer.
2. My atomizer works on battery a but not on battery b.
- This is an odd problem and happens rarely, but does happen. Sometimes, an atomizer just does not like a certain battery and vice versa. However, these atomizers usually produce excellent vapor on the battery in which they do work and vapor production is key.
All charger troubleshooting: Please see the Charging Your Battery section above.
Miscellaneous Issues:
1. I am getting juice in my mouth.
- Have you replaced the protective cover from the atomizer with a mouthpiece that contains a cartridge? If not, see How to Use the Electronic Cigarette – Getting Started
- Are you a messy dripper? See Filling Your Cartridge above

Wierd Janty issue.
I just discovered something wierd with one of my Janty batteries. It stopped working with the manual switch. The manual switch still works with the other battery, and with the USB, and the wierd battery still works with the automatic switch. This just started today, since I was using both batteries with the manual switch before.
I’m not really worried about it. I still have a couple older batteries from batch 3 I can use. It’s just wierd.
Can anyone think of what would cause this? I’m stumped.
|||hi leaford, few days ago i had post about similar strange behave of Janty manual switch. I think i figure out what the problem was with my switch. so, hope i can explain in my bad english; maybe you have the same issue. the main point is that battery loosing the contact with the switch. i guess the metal inside the of joint (between switch and battery) is quite soft. so when we fix strongly battery to switch its press little bit, for example i notice that my usb battery end going hardly in but switch still working with it; but with the battery not any more; so i took sand paper and polish the battery end for very little….so its start work again!!! the inner part get better contact
hope its understandable.
i guess janty experiment with different batch and the sizes is not exact yet..|||this probably has nothing to do with your weird works with one battery and not with other problem leaford..
but the little positive center connections sit in a piece if silicone rubber to insulate them from the out part.. they are just a push fit and after repeated use get squidged in slightly compared to when new.. the contacts between battery and atomized get less pressure applied to them.. cleaning helps but isnt the real answer..
if a very small watchmakers screwdriver is used to lever the center part up very slightly the contacts are made again.. strangle enough screwing the two parts together too tightly is what cause this problem..
the silicone around the center contact loses its springiness.. this lead to poor battery contact on the positive connection..
your problem leaford needs some more thought.. he he he
trog||| |||I had a similar problem with my first Janty. The one battery would only work on manual switch and would not work with the auto.
They told me to send it back and they replaced it
|||OK, I get it. So the contacts are slightly springy, and one got pushed in a bit. ANd since the switch still works with other batteries, it’s probably the battery contact that got pushed in, not the switch contact, does that sound right?|||all i know is the inner contacts do get pushed and the pressure on them lessens.. the outer part cant fail to make contact.. the inner part does rely on the part being slightly springy.. if it isnt there is gap left on the outer part.. the outer part governs how far it screws in.. the inner part needs to stick up a bit but be springy to move in a little so as there isnt a visible gap..
a variation (how far the center parts stick up) from one battery to another and the same with the atomizers does exist..

Show Us Your Obsession
I have been reading A Lot of serious and doom and gloom threads lately.
I thought I would see if we can get a Fun one started.
As you know, I am still pretty new to the whole E-cig thing.
I have already collected quite a pile of Parafinailia. This Pile will grow I know, I have a lot of stuff I havent even ordered yet
I know how some of you people are obsessed with just collecting E-cigs, I’m sure you have a pile to even go with them.
So, the idea is to show your collections, Piles, Shelves, Crates, whatever you have. Your Labratory or collection or as some mentioned your "Attic Time Capsule for future generations" hehe
|||Now that聮s precisely the reason I would like disposables. That聮s a lot of kit. I聮m starting to collect a lot of carts and liquid, and that to me is a pain. But that is a very impressive collection you have there.

To drip or not to drip?
OK I would like everyone聮s opinions on dripping. I have just managed to successfully do the said. Personally I think it is more economical and more tasty, but is it good for your kit or not. I聮m very new to this e smoking and you people have quite a bit of experience. I know from reading the posts that lots of you do drip. And it seems to me that everyone聮s kit has a short life span dripping of not. So to drip or not to drip?
|||hey smoking gnu …
Dripping is a rough subject to touch on. I don’t suggest it for someone new to esmoking only because they need to learn the basics first. Its very easy to flood an atomizer if not done properly, then you have to deal with the cleanup. Often, dripping can lead to fluid getting past the atomizer itself, and shorting your battery as well.
The best way to use liquid is to top off cartridges. When doing so, just fill enough to fully moisten the filling. If you notice a puddle on top, its very easy to flood the atomizer this way as well.
Just my $.02 cents…|||its the visual indicator cash.. topping the cart gives a visible indication of when to stop.. direct atomizor dripping dosnt.. its count the drops i hope..
but.. i use a 901 in preference to a classic purely cos i can top the carts and get the best results.. with classics i have to direct drip for best results… its all too easy to flood them.. one drip too many is enough..
pipes are brilliant to drip.. they hold lot more and it isnt so easy to flood them..
but the bottom line is if the atomizer aint getting enough fluid it aint gonna work as well..
i would say only do it if u have to.. i have to so i do it.. i would love not to have to thow..
trog||| |||In my opinion, the only way to really enjoy eSmoking to the fullest extent is to drip. When I bought my first e-cigs and one small 4ml bottle of e-liquid, I would use a syringe and slowly fill my cartridge until moistened. Then I would leave the cartridge upside-down for 10 minutes to make sure the wool in the cartridge had completely saturated the added liquid. I never dripped on the atomizer at first.
When my small 4ml bottle was gone. I didn’t like E-smoking without it. I needed that extra punch, even with new cartridges. So I smoked real cigs (just a couple) until my new e-liquid arrived.
When I became a pro at filling carts, I started dripping on the atomizer itself, but never more than one to two drops, which equals maybe one cigarette’s worth of smoking. That way I only had to clean/blow out my atomizers once per week.
Also, it depends on the brand of e-cig you are using. Some do not take well to dripping; others do. You soon find out through trial and error. My Sedansas can withstand a lot of dripping and topping off. They do eventually clog up if done too much and too often, but all I do is blow them out.
Also, if you use some of the fruity-flavored e-liquids — pinapple for one — it really clogs the atomizer and sometimes kills it. If you do end up with a permanently clogged atomizer, soak it in hot soapy water or white vinegar and water in a covered container for an hour, rinse well, blow out residual water, then let dry upside-down at an angle in the hot sun or with a hair dryer.||| |||With my DSE901 I drip - 1 drop. With my penstyle I will drip 2 or 3 drops. With my Janty Kissbox - I never drip, never had to, the carts work great.

but im getting good flavour and hit with the high pipe, specially compared to other liquids of similar strength…36mg is next on the shopping list.||| |||This juice is good stuff..but we must be carefull! i smoked about 5 drips in a space of 10 minutes..and began to get a degree of anxiety..getting a few drops in your mouth from a leaky cart.. could potentially bring on a panic attack or anxiety in some people..it felt like a mild amphetamine.|||Hi Kit…Glad you like it but if its making you feel shaky then drop to a lower nicotine level…i use lots of nicotine and always have so not experienced this…But im sure its not for all constitutions at this super strength..|||

DSE901mini Is this a safe bet?
So if I got me a DSE901 From Simon e-cigs .co.uk. Would I be getting a good back up, and are they any good for dripping, as I have tried a mini before DSE101 with carts and I really don聮t like drinking the juice, its ok when I drip with it though. But rather than buy spares for that I was thinking 901.
|||yes its a good backup,and yes,its good for dripping.||| |||hi gnu ,
The 901 seems to be the e-cig of choice for a lot of peeps. The 101 you got would be similar to smokesters! super mini on his webshop (RN4081), the 901 is bigger than a super but smaller than a classic. I have all 3 versions , RN4081 super mini,DSE901b mini and a RN4072 classic and the 901 has a nice form factor, its not huge like the pen and it doesnt look like a ciggie like the super mini does.
I’d recommend the 901 any day.|||All sounds GOOD to me. The 901b is the black one right?
||| |||I much prefer the classic.
Bigger & heavier but bigger cartridge and battery.
Little harder to draw, but better all round.
Black one arrived today, havn’t touched the 901 since I got the first classic.||| ||| |||I was thinking mini because that little 101 I聮ve got go聮s really well when its dripped, But one of the batteries is stuffed , and if I get some spares for that its more 拢拢 so I was thinking of the better 901 for the extra. But I do like the classic. You know a change is a bit of a rest, that sort of a thing.
just get whichever one you fancy….youll probably end up buying both anyway.
if its an ecig for dripping youre after,id get a 901 personally-im dripping france pipe in mine right now,and its hitting the spot, plus its a tough ecig for dripping-less chance of leakage to the battery due to its design…

-CaSH|||Great post, CaSHMeRe. Wish I had had that list when I was trying to decide what to order.
I think I have about a dozen flavors, and I’m still in the process of trying to test all of them.
So far, I think my favorite has been Peppermint. Some of the flavors are a little too subtle for me, but the Peppermint packs more of a punch.
Banana is one of the flavors that I was hoping to like, but the flavor doesn’t really come across. Could be my taste buds are completely destroyed from too many years of smoking.
One mistake I made was to buy 2 bottles of Kahlua…..with so many options, it is hard to believe that I’ll ever get around to using more than one. Guess I just got carried away thinking about the real stuff!
|||Thank you sooooooo much Cash!
That’s awesome.
Hey Smoky , we need some "sticky’s" here.|||Thanks for posting this - it will help out a lot…
|||Not to sure if all the flavors are oil based but came across this? it say’s it uses propylene glycol
CaSHMeRe can you check it and let us know still kinda a newb LoL
http://www.silvercloudestates.com/faq.aspx|||It’s too bad th chili and garlic flavors are oil based. My Thai friends would love them.||| ||| |||Bickford flavoring is great for who lives within their delivering-region (or has help from within that of course
). Outside of that people of course would love other, just as good choices (still hunting around for my region for instance)
Oh a small warning for the tastes they have double, like peppermint (both oil and propylene-glycol based): better doublecheck and perhaps underscore (for the shop-assistant) the articlenumbers of the right choice for those. Else you might end up with the wrong choice.|||I’m going to call them and ask what "natural" flavors means.
I want to know if contains any sugar or other "sticky" substance.
I’ll let you know what they tell me. coffee, hazelnut and peach.
The coffee smells like a fresh cup of coffee.
Those 3 little bottles will last a long long time, because you just need a little. Thanks Sanneke, great idea will do

Nic Tolerance and Certain Liquids
Hey Everyone,
Have a series of questions for you all to see if I can help out a client of mine.
Now, it was always my understanding and personal experience that the higher the nic content got, the harsher the throat hit got as well.
With Zero Nic Liquid, the throat hit (as most commonly refer to it as) is almost non existent. This includes smoking Bickfords straight, and any other PG based zero nic liquid.
As I would move up the Nic chart, I would get a harsher throat hit, and so on and so forth.
Throat hits also depend on the device, meaning, a throat it from a mini, is different then that of a pen or a cigar, and vice versa …
Now, to my questions.
1. How many of you have the same type of device (901 vs. 901 — Pen vs. Pen) and have 2 different atomizer that produce different types of a throat him.
(Sorry if that wasn’t clear. In other words, Both atomizers produce great vapor, but one carries a throat hit and the other doesn’t?)
2. For those that started out at zero/low/med … Did you have to move up a strength or two to get that same throat hit? Not only a nic tolerance here, but also a "throat hit" tolerance?
Any and all replies, much appreciated!
Thanks guys and gals|||1. I have a white generic and a black generic pen , both from simon , I find using the same liquid that the black one gives a better kick , but the black one produces more vapour tho. both atomizers have had roughly the same usage.
I’ve also compared 901 atomizers together and i get much the same result there. some are better than others. I dont know due to the production methods if thats because some run hotter than other which it turn produces a harsher vapour or if it’s the battery connection to the atomizer. A battery with a good seal to the atomizer gives a stronger smoke than one which you can hear has less of a seal.
2. Sorry m8ty but cant help on this one as i’ve always used high
|||You might want to read my problems im having with Trading Standards … Its about the nic carts etc etc …. I tried NO NIC CARTS today with my friend next door and we both came to the same result …. It tasted the same as the HIGH NIC CARTS ….. The problem with nicotine is that it takes about 7 sec to hit your brain from your lungs so you 1st thought is ….Hmmm Thats just the same with high nic…. So i will have to try no nic carts infuture to see if its a mind over matter thing lol lol …Hmmm … This could work.|||I agree with Rusty, I don’t think the nicotine is what gives throat hit/harshness.
I’ve found two things do that. One is additives in eliquid (diy eliquid is smooth because it doesn’t have the additives, or they are too dilute to notice much). The other thing that can give a harsh vapour is the type of atomiser. My Kissbox atomisers burn hotter than my bling, they cook the eliquid more and that changes the flavour and hit. I don’t know why they are harsher with the same juice but they are.|||Kate …. I have found that my super mini tastes a bit like plastic sometimes ….. Now i have asl tried my mini over a longer period of time and found the taste still good …. But I MUST SAY …. this was vaping all night lol lol lol …. I think the super mini atomiser design could be a fault, as the bit you suck on is actualy over the vap chamber which gets hot and heats up the plastic cap…. I think the further away the automiser is from the bit you got to suck on the better …. Less chance of a hot plastic taste….. I think the super mini woul suite the light smoker lol lol|||
You don’t want to be vaping plastic fumes Rusty, be careful about that.|||What gives you the throte hit is the PG …. Its the feeling of taken somthing into lungs ….Thats what i think is 1 big diff between an e-cig and a nic inhaler, But i cant say that live !!!! The next good thing is being able to blow "smoke" back out and make stupit shapes….Whitch a lot of us like to do as im sure you seen on my videos lol lol lol|||Thats why i think he mini is better than the super mini, because the atomiser is further away from the plastic cap you suck on !!!!
|||I don’t think it’s the nic either. My diluted e-liquids seem pretty much the same as the strong stuff, I just vape the lower e-liquid more frequently whereas with the strong liquid I can put it down and take a break.
My 901’s deliver different results. Can’t figure it out!
I get more hit with my penstyle.
I also notice if I exhale through my nose I seem to feel more hit. It’s difficult to describe because I feel it at the back of my throat in the sec before it goes through the channel to my nose. This doesn’t depend on the device I am using - might just be me being odd though!

according to my china frd , he also into e cig but sadly I haven;t order from him yet ,
all the e cig is made in senzeh sorry for the typo mistake is a state in china.there is around 10 factories doing it maybe more.
and each dealers get their goods from there from different factories.
next in the first place e cig is bad quality made.this is a facts.u can see trog also comment alot on negative points on e cig.
but now it seem slowly improving the technology….
till now the atomiser part is the troublesome part .truely speaking.
next atomiser the parts mostly is hand made .
I do tried before various genenic models and branded ones
each got their own draw even using same model
example u are using dsc 901 , if u got two atomisers or more
do this test.
insert new cart in every atomiser .
test with fresh battery
each take a slow drag long draw
after testing playing around the atomisers , u surely can feel some atomisers is good some is bad…some able to draw out the taste well
some got burning tastes.
about nic hit , I feel high nic will have the draw ..the hit on ur throat.
flavours one not much or even none .
don;t mention those non nic and low nic cart .
and thus make me smoke higher nic in real cig?

last time I used to smoke low nic real cig , now move to high nic real cig after vapouring e cig.!!
sorry for talking too much .overall this is my experience .
now I know why some bros prefer throw away type of e cig..
atomisers cart , or ruyan throwway cigar.
this concept is good on saving ur money on always buying extra carts.
on topping up the cart.
charging ur e cig battery desperate when run out.
but bad point on throw away e cig concept is …expensive ..compare those standard e cig .
seriously I respect some of u can quit using e cig or cut down on real cig usage
as far as I know , my china frds still smoking real cig …beside e cigs.
cos to them e cig still haven;t reach the same feelings the same aftertastes like real cig.
the draw , the after smell in the throat….
especially the draw ..
sorry for my english…and nagging too much :PWhat other things contribute to the throat hit besides the actual nicotine? Received some JC arctic mint today, high nic (18mg PG) and it’s like smoking air. TONS of vapor and absolutely no feeling. I was really looking forward to it too but was very dissapointed. So just to be sure it wasn’t my atomizer, I dripped some liquid from puresmoker (less nic, like 14mg) into my dse901 and the throat hit was there in full force, just like it had always been, yet with less nicotine. Pepper oil maybe? Or some unknown chemical?

Black speckles in 901 CART FIBRES !
is any one experiencing black like soot speckles in the cartridge fibres in the DSE 901 CARTS..
after smoking e-cigs-uk… juice and totoaly wiked mix..not sure if its the juice i doubt it !
because they are both good quality juices..im just wondering if it might be the atomizers but its only a week old strange..has anybody else encountered this?
Kit|||yep , i get this with all my cigs, even the ruyan bling. It’s only 2 or 3 specs mind you. I just put it down to the wire wool on the bridge gettin caught on the cart filling. It doesnt happen all the time tho , just occasionally.
If you blow out your atomizers with a bit off puff onto tissue paper you will no doubt see tiny particles from what i reckon is the wire wool.||| |||Paint flecks? I get those from the inner rim of the atomizer.||| |||has anyone else experienced this it seem to happen rather quickly when a new fresh cart has been dripped which makes me think its an atomizer problem???|||i dont think its burnt fibres Kit . I think the specs i get are wire wool from the atomizer.
Wire wool by its nature is brittle and i think thats what i’m getting. I never thought much of it tbh.
I just pulled the cart from my pen and there is one spec on the cart now.
I’ll try and get a pic up tommorow of what i get.||| |||I’ve seen those black specs in a few njoy carts a while back, carts fresh out of the packge.. not after being used or anything.|||well these particles are not just one or 2 more like 7 or 8 is quiet off putting but have never experienced it before until i used the new wiked and e-cig.uk range of juice..it worrys me that i might be inhaleing it apostle post that pic dude im interesed to see it .I am getting the specks as well.
I think they are just tiny burnt pieces of the wick inside the coil.
The only black object i can see in there is the wick.
This is a newer atomizer too, so it may just be the frayed ends burning off.
You wont inhale them anyway, (i dont think) its just the cart is up against, so it picks them up.
Think I would rather pick them off my cart stuffing, then get stuck in the atomizer somewhere.

now weird reaction of kick and feeling between real cig and e cig
all the while I smoke this "Next" brand.
it stated 8mg tar and 0.6 mg nictoine
also in the same time I e cig .but that is during at home soley , I don;t bring e cig out . one or two sticks at home.
while outside I smoke real cig.
today I got the urge try the higher nicotine cigarette that is marbloro red.
now my country , the marbloro tar and nicotine is seem lower..stated 13mg tar and 1.0 mg nicotine. last time if I remb is 1.2 nicotine.
than puff ..seem like I don;t feel the kick as in e cig??next while I smoke e cig..I have to puff alot of times to get the feel
now the weird part is …seem like on both real cig and e cig I don;t have the kick next my mind always think of puffing e cig than real cig
is really weird or is it me alone?
seem like I addicted more on e cig?
|||u are unusual fish in the sense u are still using both types of smoking.. its possible your nicotine needs have gone up because of e cigs.. i think mine have..
trog|||
